First, I agree with you. But... as someone who has approached lots of similar alternative options including SBC (RG35xx, RGB30, trim ui), PC emulation (Legion Go, ES-DE), and reviving nintendo 3ds, the Switch is great in its simplicity. A lot of These games are solid, the system works for home and mobile, and the performance is good enough for most users. Especially casual and young users.

Having said all that, I don't see any especially slick deals here. Good deals? yes. screaming? not really.

In terms of quality nobody can rival Nintendo. Sony comes close as a first party developer but they pick off where Nintendo left off into more mature, complex games for those who are older. While many games do come into the pipeline from non-Nintendo developers, Nintendo has that non-pareil game quality that is hardly matched in terms of overall appeal to both casuals and hardcore. Or the universal reach.

Now, whether they are over valuing themselves can also be true as they attach $50 to everything they produce as a flat rate. Some of their titles aren't worth $50 and they don't adjust this accordingly (for example Mario vs Donkey Kong). It's a good game, but no way worth $50 msrp.
