The packets of seasoning are usually separate, which makes them easier to package. Just did birria a week ago. It was good. I used the season packet, and just drained it out afterwards, kept a better flavor on the noodss!

Yes, it's called Immi. They are very good but expensive. Lots of protein and way better for you!

Yes, go to any Asian market and you'll see tons of noodles. One of the many markets here in NYC has at least 50 varieties. Many of these noodles are no more than flour and water, which is pretty healthy. And they also take 3 mins to cook so they're really no different than these instant ramen noodles. As for actual instant ramen, yes, I've seen several non-fried versions and at least one brand that is specifically made to be healthy. It had minimal fat and sodium and actual shiitake mushrooms. Not cheap though.

So just buy some dry Chinese noodles and provide your own broth. Or just use water then drain and sprinkle on some soy sauce to make lo mein. Or use salad dressing for a Western twist. In 3 minutes, you'll have healthy instant noodles. Cheaper too. Here are 2 random examples.

These shrimp egg noodles have actual shrimp eggs but I can't taste them. I can't believe that it's $14 on eBay. This exact brand is $1.50-$2 in NYC's Chinatown.

Or these instant nonfried egg noodles. I've bought them before and think it only has 4 ingredients (flour, water, eggs and turmeric for color). Ugh, this "value pack" is $16.99 at Walmart. I can literally find it for <$5 in Chinatown.

There's nothing unhealthy about "pure carbs." It had sustained our ancestors, including millions of Asians, for centuries. The energy it provides was essential for survivor. Indeed, carbs is the most important component in the food we provide during relief efforts, e.g. Gaza. The Japanese eat noodles, including instant ramen, many times a week and they're among the healthiest people on Earth. The key is to not eat too many carbs and a serving of these noodles are not considered too much. Cut down on your snacks and sugar instead.

I'm just fine with the unhealthy Dollar store brand but my tree-hugging pleather underwear coworker loves this brand. I think each cup is $3-$3.30. Claims to be organic, steamed instead of fried and contains 40% less sodium.

Why don't you just buy regular dried Chinese noodles? Asian markets will have plenty of brands and they're all cheaper than these. I used to buy a pack of 8 for $1-$1.50. Most have just flour and water, and perhaps 2 or 3 other ingredients for texture and appearance. A popular variant has shrimp eggs. And most take just 3 minutes to cook, just like instant ramen.

Ah yeah I have a bunch from Chinatown but I love these bowls cause they're so convenient and not need to wash any dishes ha
What's weird is it's only 16% extra sodium if you wish to forego the flavoring packets or not which is kinda weird. Means noodles themselves are pretty salty

Ended up making one with this bowl with my leftover birria and taco ingredients here: https://i.imgur.com/APx9OJH.png
