Is this really that bad? I mean, three of the four categories do suck, but gas is huge. That alone makes it a solid quarter IMHO.
Long time Chase Freedom cardholder here and I gotta say this is gonna be a trash quarter with these options. However, it is hardly a surprise. For Chase Freedom, you usually get only 1 or 2 good quarters a year. The other 2 are pretty useless. You normally hope for a good Q4 when a lot of shopping is gonna be done.

I don't eat at restaurants anymore. Ripoff galore. I just went on a 14 day driving trip and spent $9.34 on food. I brought a travel cooler and travel freezer and all my own food. That frees up so much time and money to enjoy real experiences.
I'm still annoyed I spent the $9.34. There was no reason for it. I succumbed to a Buc-ee's visit in South Carolina and wasted $8.49 on a pulled brisket sandwich with 10% tax.
I see, well I promise you that you're missing out on fantastic meals. I totally understand why you don't eat at restaurants if your one splurge was at Buc-ee's.
true, but useful post since i dont have to go to their site to look it up. i'll be using my discover card during the quarter...walmart and groceries!
You can also buy giftcards from gas stations and that would qualify for the 5% back.
I do this with Sheetz and use my Sheetz membership to then also get coupons loaded up on my card to use for gas, but can be used for their food if you are into that too.
The original Chase Freedom (Visa) isn't offered anymore. People can keep them but they can't PC a Freedom Flex into one.
The OG didn't have 7% dining this quarter, flex does. This quarter OG can be used for Costco but flex can't. I already have two flex and Chase can't force my OG into flex. Finger crossed
Imagine scrolling to ask this question only for the answer to be in the title. Oh wait, we don't have to imagine.
Imagine getting in on the post early enough when the card information was not in the title or OP. Oh wait, we don't have to imagine.
If you look at the full link to the thread it still states the original title of the post.
If you go on the classic version of SD on a web browser, you can see what the original post looks like and what a staff member has added as an extra post which on the app appears to be combined into the OP.
Oh, and you're welcome. It was my post that caused them to change the post.

I think this is true for most of these rotating category cards for the past few years now.

It's definitely not as lucrative as it once was
