If you need to push a lot of air Costco has a Vornado one i just picked up for $30ish?
https://www.costco.com/vornado-27...97037.html
I can't remember the instore price.

I have both of these fans. I needed the small Honeywell one because i needed a cheap fan with a manual switch i could plug into a Wifi controlled outlet.

Respectable little fans, I bought 2 of them last year when they were $9.99 ea. They move a good amount of air but make a good amount of noise while doing so. Little fans always make more noise when trying to do the same work larger fans do, If you want quite, then you want about 11" and larger fan blades. Otherwise, the little 6.5 inch blade in these are gonna make some noise. And yes, the actual fan blade size is only 6.5" measured across width, I own two of them!

...yes, that is very true, I remember the honey ht-900 has changed over the years, it could more energy saver year, or higher powered another year, super quiet one year, different watts ect. We discussed this a few years back in the forum rooms , and recommended versions which were stronger and more powerful, ... each year these products do change batch to batch or year to year. Good Point.
I'm still using the older HT800 model. Except for the broken tilt mechanism it's working fine.

These fans are of varying quality, the first one I bought slowed down to the point where it was barely moving air about 5 months after I bought it. The company is good about honoring their warranties however, they replaced it with very little fuss and the newer one has worked fine for several years since.

Yes, the base does have two screw head mounts built in on the bottom. Of coarse you can also make your own screw holes from the top side of the base, depending on your needs.

Interesting. I've had 4 of these and they all failed within 2 years.
It's because 17 years ago they still made reliable fans. I've got a 20 year old honeywell that still works, while several of the same brand bought in the past 5 years have already failed.
Not that that trend is unique to honeywell, of course.

actually, I have 1 of these fans pointed into my MAIN PC, with external hard drive on top of the PC, to keep the temps down in Summer, on 24/7 ... for months. How did you use your fans. For the price of around 8 dollars on sale, using lower electric, I can live with that. Mine have fallen from table to wood floor, and dropped all the time, and if they break, take it out on garbage day. Obviously, 40,000 sold on amazon alone the last month, and many sold in target, lowes, home depot, walmart, it is best selling fan maybe of all time (not sure about that, but Amazon has it on the top selling fan! I wouldn't call it a "summer" fan, but all around fan, small footprint, light weight, cheap, place in any room, or pointing into electric equipment. I must have currently about 8-9 of them. Smilie

How does this one compare to the Amazon branded one? They look near identical and are usually sold for around the same price (w/o coupons).
I'm curious about this vs. the Hampton Bay model at Home Depot. Need to get something quick while on a trip and I can go to Target for this fan but there is a Home Depot much closer.

Looks like the product dimensions are wrong. Based on the model number, the Honeywell site lists it as:

Product Dimensions (LxWxH): 8.94 x 6.3 x 10.9 in.

Target says the blade diameter is 7.2".

Super misleading because the size of the fan is typically listed as the blade diameter, not the height. If we start listing fans by height then pedestal fans would be like 60" fan!!

Very frequently, and very idiotically, Amazon lists the "dimensions" of a product as the dimensions of the box it comes in. I can't decide if this is due to fraud or just general mass supidity.
