I love mine it's not quiet but it moves a ton of air. I use it to help move the AC around the upstairs of my very old house. this is a great price

Probably the best fan at its price point. It's not quiet, but it moves a ton of air for its size. I have a few around the house and stopped noticing the noise.

actually, I have 1 of these fans pointed into my MAIN PC, with external hard drive on top of the PC, to keep the temps down in Summer, on 24/7 ... for months. How did you use your fans. For the price of around 8 dollars on sale, using lower electric, I can live with that. Mine have fallen from table to wood floor, and dropped all the time, and if they break, take it out on garbage day. Obviously, 40,000 sold on amazon alone the last month, and many sold in target, lowes, home depot, walmart, it is best selling fan maybe of all time (not sure about that, but Amazon has it on the top selling fan! I wouldn't call it a "summer" fan, but all around fan, small footprint, light weight, cheap, place in any room, or pointing into electric equipment. I must have currently about 8-9 of them.
Coincidentally, mine had the same use - in my case a laptop that chronically overheated and crashed, I took the bottom cover off and sat it on this fan pointed vertically - no more crashing. Though it did reduce the portability of the laptop a bit Smilie

Iirc this fan has a plastic bearing and will die in a few months to a year.

I had 2 of them die in 2 months of constant use.

Buy a Vornado. I've had a Vornado running constantly for 2 years and it's still perfect.

Good for people who don't want to hear TV or their own thoughts over the noise level of the fan.

I've had this fan since…2011ish. You can't kill it. It's like the Nokia phones of fans. You can't clean the inside because it doesn't disassemble—the fan blades have dust I simply can't reach, but it doesn't matter. This thing will outlast the cockroaches.

I have 3 of these around my house. My son and I each use one at night and I have one in my office. They move a lot of air and aren't terribly loud imo for the price. If you need a basic fan that you can am at stuff, hang on a wall or use without any regard until it breaks...you could do MUCH worse than this deal.

Same! I've had success using a 1 inch wide paintbrush; I clean Lego around my house this way so use it on these fans too because of the narrow little gap. Not perfect but a thought.

low for silent, medium for a soft bit of noise, and high for 'the neighbors are at it again'

I dont know what it is about this fan but i have confirmed this with MANY people... it's the ultimate white noise machine. all three of my kids were practically raised by this fan lol. and when i poined out one to some friends who have kids their immediate reply was 'you use it for noise too?'
I checked mine last night just to see how loud it was. The ambient noise level was 35db. Low 37db Medium 45db High 50db. These readings were taken right behind the fan. By the time I'm 15 feet away in bed there's almost no noticeable change for medium and low and only a slight decibel increase for high. Again I think either these people have improperly functioning fans or you hang wind chimes on them.

You can look at reviews of users and see how they rate other stuff, and if they give mostly 1 or 2 stars for practically everything, that person will "hate" this fan. That is why lots of us go with the majority of users, if a product has about 90 percent positive 5/4 star rating and has tons of reviews, it's a pretty safe bet a normal person will like it (unless it's lemon, which happens) . But a fan like this is just General Purpose Fan, not a Turbo Wind Hurricane level fan. Moderate breaze on a spring day, to move the air a bit.

search reviews, many complain it's loud
which at this low price is not surprising.
I have one of these next to my bed. The low speed is fine for me and I like the white noise to not hear dogs bark or cars drive past all night.

Have 3 of these. We use them to push air from the living room where the air conditioner is into 2 bedrooms and the kitchen. Works great to keep our whole apartment cool.

Very frequently, and very idiotically, Amazon lists the "dimensions" of a product as the dimensions of the box it comes in. I can't decide if this is due to fraud or just general mass supidity.
Probably the latter. It seems like it's a crapshoot on dimensions whether it's the product or box.

The hinges won't last. Bought three and all broke down in three years. Had to throw them away despite that they still could move air perfectly. For the people who just want some cheap fans, this is OK. Personally I will spend more to get a quality one.
