I've had this machine for 6 months now and it rocks, but the lint filter is horrible. So much lint and dog hair get into the cooling coils and inside the machine. To remedy this BEFORE YOU EVER RUN A LOAD go buy the primary filter strip kit from homeguysolutions.com or make your own watching his YouTube if you don't wanna drop $50

also I got mine scratch and dent for $1800 all in

Got this in the Costco deal about 6 months ago and absolutely love it. So so convenient, saves energy. 2'20" for a load with "extra dry" on. We have toddlers and a baby and it's so nice to throw a dirty sheet/pajamas in before heading out and coming home to them being clean. No more, "Did you remember to put the clothes in the dryer?"

I don't trust any appliance Samsung manufactures. They always come with great features, only to break down months if not after a year or 2. Not worth it, I'd stick with GE.

These do not work on temperature, they work on humidity. While there is 'some' heat involved, it's nothing like a conventional dryer. Feel the heat exhausted from a window air conditioner or a central AC unit, that is all the heat involved. Maybe 130ish degrees. These heat pump dryers are air conditioners, specifically dehumidifiers.
Interesting to know. My current all in one gets very hot. Sounds like this would be better for fabrics with less head involved. That's my primary concern with driers.

This is exactly what I understood about your understanding.

All window AC units are heat pumps! When using a phase change medium to convert heat, it's a heat pump, and this world loves to throw around that term because it knows that most don't understand it. Geothermal, ambient air, makes no difference. Hot side in or cold side in, makes no difference. They are all heat pumps. They are all glorified window air conditioners when dealing with a phase change liquid (freon). This combo unit is exactly that, a heat pump, just an air conditioner, but specifically a dehumidifier!

Endless tutorials available out there if you want to know how it really works.
I am talking about heat in a window AC. The issue is I need 110 volts. There is not that many good 110v window AC with heat in them.

I'm not a delicate owner, I have nothing that I would consider as such. But if I did, I don't think you can beat a wash line, a dehumidifer and a simple fan.... Or any combination thereof! All of which is way less expensive that this all in one.

That's why I keep trying to say this nicely. You don't understand what these things are let alone how they work!

Turn a window AC unit around, blow the cold air out and the hot air in....Now the world calls it a heat pump. It was always a heat pump! In science we refer to all temperatures as heat. A heat pump the way you keep thinking about it is just the reversal of freon flow. Which makes the outside cold and the inside hot. Reverse it again, now the inside is cold and outside hot.

I did HVAC install/service/repair for eons, I have no interest in writing books here, others have long since done it. If you want to know how it all really works, the info is freely available. I'm just trying to help here to clear up some marketing jargon, nothing more.

You can buy 2 stand alone units for less than this..... Divide and conquer anyone?

Understand the "dryer" portion is just a dehumidifier and it's gonna take some serious time depending on the load size. All-in-one always sounds good on paper, the marketers make look great on paper as well, then you get it home and see what it really is in real life under real world conditions. It almost always ends up being a different than specified story!

Good luck!
I've been using a combo for over 8 years, would never go back to two units. Takes up less space and is way more convenient.

I'm not arguing with convenience, if you are willing to pay for it.

The Samsung Bespoke version is better in just about every way, the clothes come out dry and the coil cleaner works better. The GE microban seals are the only thing it does better.
Samsung is known for their inability to service their appliances.

Yes! My absolute worst customer experiences was with Samsung. The torture, the nightmare, I'm once bit and will never again buy their products! (full disclosure) I do still own a Galaxy Tab S7, and it has been fine aside from their relentless control. But never another Samsung anything that I buy with my money, not ever!

we've owned this unit nearly a year now. our old 25+ year washer and dryer were in need of repair/replacement. bought this on a few positive reviews, and a good discount that included the optional platform.

on the positive:
its just the two of us and handles our laundry needs very well (about 3 loads a week, so on the light side of usage?). we live in a condo, so enjoy the space saved. no dryer vent was also a selling point for us, since cleaning the dryer duct in the condo is/was a pain. electric savings was notable. no excessive heat (from dryer) allows running during summer comfortable. better management of detergent. very controlable, wash only, dry only, extend tumble to prevent wrinkling at the end of the cycle.

a few negatives:
the machine weighs 300lb. you need the shipping bolts if there is any need to tip and move the machine. the installers after installing the machine, removed the shipping bolts (good) and then threw the shipping bolts away (bad) (before I could catch them from doing that).
Need to make sure you hang onto those shipping bolts for any future machine moving.
Also, some very good yt vids on the vent issue being less than air tight along the edges, allowing tiny bits of lent leaking around the borders of the vent filter. there is a solution and we include the additional attention to that area after each usage. there is a second filter that needs attention roughly every 30+ wash cycles. its easy to check, just that its at the front bottom of the machine and requires hunkering down onto the floor to attend it. the optional platform helps with this a bit.

we are very happy with the machine, fits our space and life style well enough. does the job, clean, and dry. economical savings with wattage used. quiet compared to the old machines we had.

This appliance guy on YouTube seems to like the Samsung over the GE and LG so far.

But you are arguing that it looks great on paper but not in the real world, are you specifically talking about GE? Because both my LG units have been great in the real world.

These things are a flash in the pan. They're hip now but you won't even see them for sale in 5 years. Like curved TVs.

I can't see why a family would buy this unless they buy two. Hopefully, they're washing weekly, not bi weekly or monthly because they will be washing all day. Yikes. Washing and drying something in separate machines is a huge convenience when you're doing loads of laundry.
Family of 4 here and we love it. I spend way less time washing clothes because I'm not waiting around for the wash to finish and cycle things into dryer before they get mildewy. I can do 3 loads a day on weekends, early morning, mid day, (pause for peak rates), and overnight. But I never really have to do that. Can also throw random loads in any day of the week, morning or night, and because the clothes will just sit in there already dry it doesn't matter that I'm at work all day or sleeping in on a weekend! It makes doing laundry so much more flexible. The trade-off is when you need that one shirt clean and dry ASAP it's not as quick and also, I can't overstuff it as obscenely as I used to do my old set. Overall, I would not go back to separates.

edit - I have the LG, but same thing.
