Yeah, because you need a degree in engineering to operate these. We had whirlpool machines for 15+ years that costed fraction of these.
well I got one of them, so this unit has been for me!

Samsung appliances are garbage. All of them. Fridges with broken ice makers. Washers with bad seals. GE/Whirlpool are very reliable and parts are cheap and easy to replace if even necessary.
That simply isn't true! While I personally would not buy a Samsung appliance even with using "your money", that does not mean they don't build equivalent products to anything else on the market. There is good and bad in all of them! Now if you are specifically talking about Samsung tech support....Well, like I said, I wouldn't buy their sht even with your money!

This or the samsung one from costco for $1600? I hear samsung is a terrible brand but the price and it being newer is appealing

I would never buy one of these. It will take forever to make laundry wet, clean, then dry in one machine! That's just a duh factor. The other factor is two separate machines can do twice the work in the same amount of time for less total cost.

It's all poison, just pick one! But why pay more for less?

Seems that military discount doesn't apply with this deal. But you can buy thru the AAFES website for same price from HD to save on taxes.
Thanks, forgot this was a thing.

What are opinions on a 5 year service plan?

Given the price I thought it'd be a good idea to get a service plan, but then I also realized GE offers a 5 year warranty anyways, so would I even be getting any value out of a Home Depot service plan? Do they offer anything the manufacturer warranty wouldn't?

Here is my situation that I am shocked has not been discussed anytime I read reviews or discussions about these units. We have a side-by-side washer and dryer. The dryer works perfectly fine and is newer than the washer. I was considering replacing the washing machine with this unit and keeping the traditional vented dryer. That way when we are doing sheets and towels I could just leave them in this unit and let them do their thing. But if I am washing a load of clothes where half of the stuff needs to be hang dried and the other half needs to be dried in a machine, I would just use this all-in-one as a washing machine. So basically adding the drying functionality to an already existing washing machine. If we find over time that we render the traditional dryer useless, then we could either use that area in the laundry room for storage, or add a second one of these units to double the capacity of the room. Anyone else thinking about a similar situation or have experience doing this?
We have had ours since 9/2023 and still have our old dryer which was fine.... That said we have used the old dryer once...Mostly it just sits because the drying on this is so much easier on the clothes. The amount of lint generated from a load of towels is less that 10% of the old dryer, so for their sake we just don't use the old one.

I know nothing about these, but I'm interested. Isn't this better @ Costco for $1600 including haul away and install? I don't love that it's electric, but the annual cost is low.

I wouldn't buy another GE. And ge profile supposed to be higher end? My clothes don't come out clean and the dryer has no idea when your clothes are dry. If I could do it over id go back to whirlpool in a heartbeat

You mean Haier? GE no longer makes consumer appliances. They just let others use the brand name.

I've had it for about 8 months; it works great. Loads take a little longer, but not significantly.

The Lowes deal includes $200 discount, "free" install with purchase of install kit ($36) and a "free" pedestal. Also free haul away for Pros.
Can anyone see the "free" pedestal at Lowe's?

I'm intrigued by these as a space saver but not loving the idea that laundry would take so much longer when doing multiple loads since you can't have one load drying while the next is washing. Also what about removing items that can't be machine dried? Hopefully my stacked w/d holds out several more years before I have to decide on this issue!
Most items will be fine in this, they can't handle being baked in a traditional dryer, these use dehumidifiers instead of heat so it is delicate friendly

Samsung and LG build feature loaded, but failure prone devices. They sell what they do because of their pricing, you get excellent features for a low cost, but you pay on the back end with reliability/dependability. More competitors are following the trend (LG and Samsung are the top sellers).
