I've had this machine for 6 months now and it rocks, but the lint filter is horrible. So much lint and dog hair get into the cooling coils and inside the machine. To remedy this BEFORE YOU EVER RUN A LOAD go buy the primary filter strip kit from homeguysolutions.com or make your own watching his YouTube if you don't wanna drop $50

also I got mine scratch and dent for $1800 all in

Got this in the Costco deal about 6 months ago and absolutely love it. So so convenient, saves energy. 2'20" for a load with "extra dry" on. We have toddlers and a baby and it's so nice to throw a dirty sheet/pajamas in before heading out and coming home to them being clean. No more, "Did you remember to put the clothes in the dryer?"

I don't trust any appliance Samsung manufactures. They always come with great features, only to break down months if not after a year or 2. Not worth it, I'd stick with GE.

The Samsung has the soap tray near the floor. Horrible design, tiny opening and it's to deep. Hard to reach in for clothes. Samsung also has a pretty bad reputation for washer and dryers.
The point is you can load up the soap tank. I believe it holds enough detergent for ~48 loads.

The machine figures out how much soap it needs based on the load. No more worrying about measuring per load. Definitely a change in how things are typically done, and I would consider that an advancement.

Most of the negative reviews are saying it does not fully dry your clothes. Can anyone with first hand knowledge Comment on this, thanks.

The very first load my wife pulled out she said, "These still feel damp"... but then she pulled them out to show her mother what she meant and she realized it actually was completely dry... for some reason this is apparently a very common thing on this unit. We love our unit and it has saved us soo many re-washes due to not forgetting about a load in the washer after we get home from work or wake up in the morning.

We love these so much we bought a second one. Have a plumber check if your return can handle the extra water capacity if you want to run these simultaneously. But once installed with proper capacity these have been an absolute dream and I don't think my wife will ever let us go back.

We wil give up a significant number of life improvements before we give up having two of these. We have toddlers and really struggled with remembering to transfer clothes. It's been nearly a decade since we've been this caught up with laundry and we are never going back.

Even with the more dry option clothes come out very, very slightly damp. By the time you shake it once it is a cool dry. It's a weird sensation but once we realized it's just normal and if anything it keeps clothes from getting wrinkled it doesn't bother us at all.

Since it's heat pump based and needs to use the surrounding air, will this have any drying issues if the appliance is surrounded by wall on all 3 sides like a tiny laundry closet?

Best washer machine. Only negative is the filter lint thing just be precautious always clean it before new wash. I got lucky and bought it new from marketplace for $900 heavy as $u$k. But I will rate this combo unit 9/10. There is a pet feature that before it start washing clothes it vacuum and sucks all the hair from the clothing.

Returning mine to costco in the 90 day grace period and swapping to the Samsung. The GE has a weird flaw which technically makes it easier to work on, but the top 1/4th of the shell is seperate from the rest of the unit allowing the top to come off to work on the unit, so during the dry cycle there is a horribly loud metal on metal buzzing vibrating sound between the 2 metal pieces. when you apply pressure to the metal panels the sound stops until you let go. I've had service out once who replace the top metal housing and the blower fan and it did not resolve the issue.

Mine is surrounded on 3 sides in a tiny laundry closet. There's < 1/2" on the left and right sides. The closet does not have a door on it yet though. However, we have no drying issue with ours. The biggest issue is the lint, as has been said a million times, but also if you have it in such close tolerances as ours, make sure you get it leveled perfectly. I ended up buying an airsled to be able to pull it in and out of the alcove several times to get it leveled just right. If it's not, it will wobble when auto balancing and hit the side walls of our alcove, which is not ideal.

Didnt research too much but the ge is the first one to the game. Like 1.5years old now?

Then lg then samsung (i think samsung released it just a few months ago).

Samsung rinses its coils with water and reviewers are saying it works very well.
Check out the deal for it on the other thread
https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/967140

Idk why but it keeps changing from 1949 to 1999.99. Wait till it hits 1999.99 to get $400 off making it $1600. Good luck and research away.

Ps. I went with the samsung due to $150 cheaper and it being a newer release. Aesthetically looks nicer too (subjective)
