If you want to save some money on the install kit, use this one. Has all the same items in the kit that the Best Buy one does for about half the price.

I have been without a dishwasher for a few years now, being to cheap to buy one. I think I am finally going to fire on this for 250 bucks. I feel pretty good about doing a self-install, and I think i can get a junk collector to take my old one.

Another one of these dumb dishwashers with controls not accessible without opening the door.

$60 extended warranty on a $250 dishwasher seems nuts. If it breaks just buy a new one, we're in disposable appliance territory here folks.
Idk, 60 bucks for 3 years seems fair.. it's like 1.50 a month, and it reads like it's well covered too. If it was like one of those home appliances warranty places I would worry, but I feel ok with geek squad. My last washer died like 1.5 years in.

Do I need this if I am replacing a current one? It's maybe 6 or 7 years old if that matters.

How easy is it to self install? I've had to replace this one part on my 12 yr old frigidaire a few times and its getting annoying.
If you're ok getting into tight spaces to tighten hoses, and depending on your cord setup, tighten a few screws/connect the cable connectors, you can take your time and get it done in less than an hour. Read the instructions and take your time so you don't have to deal with leaks.

The install guy I talked to recommended to replace a standard hose if it's more than 10+ years since the last install to prevent a leak. Pay 10-20 bucks now to prevent 250 dollars in damage later.

Good point. Maybe I can get away with just a new flex hose though and reuse the other pieces

Thanks OP, have had a dishwasher hole like in the shoe "The Middle" for 7 years. This will be great. Will get our handyman to hook it up securely.
Great deal and just $29 delivery!

Does this have a built in chopper or do you have to run it through the garbage disposal?

How easy or hard for a regular DIYer to install this?

Same as any other dishwasher as far as I can tell. It should not be hard if you've DIY any plumbing before ever. If the dishwasher is right next to your sink cabinet, it's easy. If you already have a dishwasher that you're replacing, it's very simple.

I'm in for one to replace my 2003 GE. Also, I believe my Amazon prime visa still has extended warranty coverage which adds a year onto the warranty. I don't think any of my other cards still offer that unfortunately.

It does not have that. A Bosch 800 for $1200 also doesn't have it. Not sure I would bother looking for that feature specifically in a dishwasher. Every cheap dishwasher I've had lately has a filter, pull it out and clean it.

Never thought about how much we love and appreciate a near silent dishwasher. Would never go back to a noisy one
Had a super quiet dishwasher, broke... Purchased a super loud dishwasher... Me & wife don't mind the "noise". some rattling and water slushing basically sounds like your washer/dryer.

Yes, I agree. Nobody sleeps close to kitchen. Run it at night and go to bed. My kids are 10x louder than dish washer, I dont mind any noise expect a bomb dropped on my roof. Big Grin

The specs on paper is pretty good especially because it has a third rack and it's considered average for noise. I had dishwashers from Samsung, Maytag, Whirlpool, and just recently purchased a Bosch 800 a few months ago. I wouldn't consider this a noisy dishwasher by any means.
