I'd hit the buy button if only they were a different color.

Good deal for those whose door/furniture matches this color.

I paid $100 for this this in satin nickel on a woot sale four years ago. Has held up well.

I also had 2 of these that I bought in 2017 and they are trash. They eat batteries, only support S0 class security which has no real spec requirements and allowed the manufacturer to implement however they wanted and causes lots of failed requests and timeouts. Watch the logs of on your hub of choice when issuing commands. These are some of the first zwave locks on the market and there is reason they have been trying to unload them at discount for almost a decade.

EDIT: For reference purchased mine July 2017 when monoprice had them on clearance for $80 each. Ironically was a front page slick deal back then.
Have never had any of mine eat batteries.

I didn't realize Veralite users still existed! Mine made the transition from Smartthings to Hubitat to Home Assistant (which started with a 500 series Nortek stick to a 700 series Zooz and finally at an 800 Series zooz).

Ive spent a lot of time (and money) fighting with Yale locks. You can't upgrade the module in these to the 500 series zwave plus version, despite them being identical in appearance. The 500 series module ALSO only supports S0 and is still the "newest" module they will sell you directly https://shopyalehome.com/collecti...4118630532 [shopyalehome.com]

Thankfully you can buy the 700 series modules (which actually support S2 security) on ebay but Yale is trying to burn through old stock before making those available to consumers.

I would typically get 3 to 4 months using energizer batteries. I was seeing the same 2 to 3 months with Eneloops also. I'm finally getting 8+ months out of the Yale Assure lock 1 with 700 series module with energizer batteries.
MONTHS to you is eating batteries? OK guy Big Grin

Yes that would be the definition of eating batteries. Enjoy having your automations and lock go dead every 2-4 months.

I have all of my Z wave locks connected to my Smartthings. There's a feature that allows you to set codes and customize automations within. I'd assume the other types of hubs work the same way.
If you have Ring alarm the lock can share arm disarm PINs with what you've set up in the alarm. Alarm will disable with correct unlock PIN as well. I have the version of this lock without the backup key. Only thing that can be tricky is to have the Ring base station near the lock when pairing or you can get a unhelpful error and spin your wheels. If you can stand the brass color these are a deal.

Very easy.
Unfortunately the Z-wave is dead technology in my opinion. A useless function unless you already have the hub ect.
I guess this is why they are so cheap.

I can't point to documentation saying no but I'm confident the lock knob side would definitely not work exposed to the elements.

Bought it last time for around $30
Connected to Smarthings and installation was simple enough.

Its been about 45 days since install and my battery status is at 100% with 4-5 times day for lock and unlock command.

Yes. A good Z wave lock would be very power efficient. My Yale Z wave lock is at 90% battery after 6 months of use.

Curious to know if anyone has used the Zigbee version of this with SmartThings. If so, what was your experience?

I have two of these. Connected to my Ring alarm system.

They EAT batteries. I go through 4 batteries at least once a month.

I switched from li-ion to akaline batteries as they last about the same but it was costing money. Finally I switched to use Eneloops now because at least they can be recharged...the Eneloops last about 3 weeks. I have gotten very good at opening the lock and replacing the batteries, only takes about 2 minutes....but it gets old doing that every 3 weeks or so.
