Wrong, lots of tennis courts are getting converted completely, or being converted to dual use.

I'm a little amused that "Pickelball" shoes exist. Surely they're just remarketed tennis shoes, no? Trying to profit from the world's current interest in pickelball.

I really can't imagine Pickelball requires a much different shoe than tennis. Unless you're a world-pro, I suspect you can cross use tennis shoes and pickelball shoes for each other sport and be OK.

Guys, I play table tennis. You guys think these would be good for that?

gotcha, do you have any recommendations?
I really liked butterfly lezolines, but they're expensive and barely lasted me 3-4 months before I completely wore them out.
JOOLA Court Table Tennis Shoes are not bad for the value and I usually get maybe 4-5 months out of them playing 3-4 times a week.
I bought genuine joola shoes in the past and counterfeit ones on temu. Honestly, the fake ones were just as good at half the price of the genuine joola, and lasted probably even longer.
Generally, look for something under or around 4oz for TT shoes and you should be ok.

thanks for input! my concern was from the assumption that since pickle ball is on much smaller courts that the wear and tear would not be as much as tennis

In asics, try upcourt or gel rockets if you're playing recreationally. I have had yasaka and joola before and they didn't last very long. Had to size up on those too. If you play in a club, you cannot go wrong with butterflys or li ning

Will try a pair; current shoes starting to wear out (Babolat Jet Mach 3).

Shoe sizing is so frustrating. Even measuring my feet isn't accurate (24cm would put me at a 5.5 men's...)

Would you say they fit true to size?
They are pretty true to size. I'm 9.5 and wear medium thickness socks. They are perfect. But if I wear thin socks, I have some wiggle room.

Thanks for sharing your experience with these shoes. Do you usually wear out shoes in 2 months? Or do these shoes wear out quicker than other shoes?
I originally only got ASICS because I loved my ASICS tennis shoes when I studied abroad in Japan for tennis. They lasted a LONG time. Obviously, time has changed and I don't think companies make products as good and durable as they used to. Most of my ASICS shoes last about 2-4 months depending on what shoe I dedicate them for. Open rec play, they wear out fast. Indoor only shoes, I have my pair for over a year and still going. Tournament outdoor, they last about four months.

I wear Cumulus to play pickleball in. The Cumulus are 9 ozs. Remna are 12.6 ozs. That is almost 40% increase in weight. You play for several hours the 3.6 ozs adds up quickly.
I have a lot of energy and I also play in weighted clothing to prepare for tournaments. Give me that burn!!

It depends. I come from both tennis and pickleball. Pickleball has more side to side and needs more grip for specific people's preferences. Tennis allows for slides so the durability factor is better for tennis shoes for sure. I like pickleball shoes solely for the side to side movements

To my understanding pickleball shoes are more like volleyball ones. I play badminton and been told that volleyball and badminton shoes are interchangable, but not tennis and badminton.

Maybe it's different with pickleball? Something to do with the motion on-court.
For indoor, volleyball and badminton shoes go hand in hand!

somehow i feel that these pickleball shoes may not last very long for tennis. the uppers and outsole may need more durable construction for playing tennis as compared to pickleball

I played competitive badminton for many years, and yes badminton and volleyball shoes are nearly identical. Yonex badminton shoes are a few grams lighter, cost about 3 times more and lasts about 1/3 of what you can get out of Asics volleyball shoes. I wore the same pair of Gel-Rocket for well over 10 years and you'd never get anything close to that out of pair of Yonex. These shoes typically are made of mesh to be as light as possible, and they usually don't have a lot of cushion (contrary to what one would think you need for jumping) to reduce the pressure from cushion rebound on your knees and to reduce sliding, from all the fast stop and go actions. I once played a tournament match in running sneakers because I forgot my court shoes and couldn't walk normally for over a month.

Tennis shoes are meant for outdoors on harder and more abrasive surfaces, and they are meant to stand up to a lot of running and sliding, and not so much of jumping. they are constructed out of heavier but more sturdy material and have a bit more cushions.

These pickle ball shoes look to me more like a hybrid of volleyball shoes and tennis shoes, sort of heavier version of volleyball shoes made to survive outdoor surfaces.
Yeah, thanks for the input. I do own a pair of asics upcourts and thought the pickleball shoes looked similar besides the front mesh that you mentioned.

I don't the model but I just threw away my first and only pair of barely worn ASICS. The thread where the top fabric material met the leather toe box material was coming undone. Never had that happen in a pair of shoes before.
