I'm sure other variations and older models are $300 but not the ones I mentioned. show me these models that I mentioned are for $300. Don't link me to Amazon cause they don't exist on there. Elongated, 12-inch rough in. universal height, modern handle on the left side. Comes with a Toilet seat. these features are not on the Drake Toilets listed on Amazon.

Not to mention the shady 3rd party sellers with bad feedback on there selling other variations cheaper than Amazon.com. if you read through their feedback you will see people's complaints like leaks, restocking fees etc...

I think the drake model sits lower to the ground so the younger folk can sit on it easier

Not a bad deal. Note if you have a septic system the higher 1.6 GPF may be beneficial and its also cheaper (helps move solids through your plumbing better).

There was a time when Toto was worth the price difference, like 20 years ago. Nowadays, every company can build a quality low water toilet, including Home Depot, for half the price or less.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Glaci.../317676800 for instance.
Can't disagree more. We just renovated a small guest bathroom when we remodeled our kitchen and the builder told us the same thing. He installed a Glacier Bay toilet and it's getting ripped out. My cousin went with Kohler and they are also crap. Our other toilets in the house are Toto's and they are well worth the extra cost. Perfect example of getting what you pay for.

Examples where these other toilets fall short is the use of plastics where the handles get wobbly and toilet seats don't stay straight. Perhaps more importantly the Toto glazing is far superior and when combined with their flush technology, doesn't leave "remnants" in the bowl.

Thank you OP for linking a great replacement to the Home Depot mistake we purchased.

I haven't found toilets that are better or worse for streaks. I owned and used a Toto for years. That house is a rental now, and it's still a good toilet AFAIK. We did have some low performing Kohlers, but their newer models should be better than the ones from 2009. Our glacier bay models do great. I'd just strongly recommend going with a one-piece. They tend to be higher end models and they tend to work better. Also easier to keep clean.

Thanks OP for mentioning the 10in version but I think your the part number you say in the title is for the 1.6 gal flush not the 10 in version. The 10 in versions usually end in ".10". Been looking for one of those. But man, those are almost $100 more than the 12in versions. On the fence about pulling the trigger.

You're right. MS776124CSFG#01 [totousa.com] is 12" rough in and 1.6g flush.

$435.99 in cart. Rep said there's a "delay" in updating the price on the product page, and to go off of the cart price. After the 20% discount on $435.99, it's $348.79.

Sub $300 purchases have happened. Build.com has them from time to time. I got mine in the past through Home Depot for the 1.6 gal (MS776124CSFG#01)model with price match for $262. BBB and Build have had issues with delivery of the product intact. that's why I chooses to PM.

If you need a crapper right now, then buy one of these, but if you wait, you'll see lower price sale in the future
