Honda dw-1 is not synthetic. I wouldn't have put this in both cars until I did the research on Bob the oil guy and other sites. Rest assured the stuff works really well it is full synthetic and actually tightened up the little bit of slop in the shifting I had prior to this fluid. Both cars have over 170k on them now. Will keep using it.

I remove both transmission cooler lines off the radiator and install 3/8 ID hoses about 6ft long onto each disconnected cooler line with hose clamps into two different 5gal buckets and fill one bucket with fresh transmission fluid. Turn on the vehicle for a second and see which hose is the suction and that hose I will drop into the fresh fluid and the other discharge hose into the empty bucket, once the discharge fluid looks clean I'll shut off the engine and connect the lines back on. I've been doing it for awhile on my Camry, both Impalas, S10, Caravan and my MKZ.

Thanks. I originally wanted 2 packages of 3. I ordered 2 packages the first time it was this price. Then I ordered another 2. I got 1 pk. the other 3 must have gotten squished. Hope your luck is better.

Now i get what you mean. What I have always practiced instead of having one of those questionable mechanical transmission changer machines.

If you have a Honda, swap that crappy oem Idemitsu brand fluid for this. Enjoy better shifts and a tranny that doesn't drain black every 30k.

I'm waiting for the guy who says the manual says the original fluid is good for the life of the vehicle.

Great deal for Honda Odyssey owners like me. This is $25 a gallon on sale usually. I drain the transmission every 20k to stop the juddering and this works perfectly.

Honda uses a special ATF designed for its transmission. I would not risk using this fluid to save a few bucks.

Go with this random guy on SD's advice rather than the Japanese engineers at Honda who developed the specs. Don't risk your transmission to save $20 every 4-5 years.

sadly the new CVT's in the corollas are a pain in the ass to do ...no way to drain and refill without a tool
