Good deal - Just keep in mind folks whether you buy new or used HDD it is always a good idea to protect your data by having multiple copies. Me being a computer nerd do all 3 of these below, but you should do at least one (preferably 1 local and 1 remote).

Locally you can do disk to disk backup
Locally you can use RAID and multiple drives
Remotely you can sync your data to a cloud provider like MS OneDrive, Amazon AWS, Google Drive, DropBOx, ect....

Couldn't pass up at $67.50 ea. I'll consolidate some 6&8's already in the system.

Decided to try one of these drives and almost immediately started a preclear in unRAID on receipt. Running since yesterday afternoon, it's now throwing SMART errors (seek error rate failing).

So I guess I'll be testing their customer service.

What are your thoughts on this enclosure? https://a.co/d/0czVXMQU
FWIW, I have owned/recommended both MediaSonic and TerraMaster enclosures and consider TerraMaster to be a bit of a step up on most models.
MediaSonic is absolutely fine, but I prefer TerraMaster if I'm going to regularly use the enclosure.

Is helium good or bad?
Compared to similar air drives, helium drives draw less power, run cooler, and are quieter (though not necessarily quiet). The biggest concern would be the helium leaking out, which has yet to be a major issue. Keep in mind, almost all the big drives are helium drives.

Got one in, full scan with no issues, 34k hours (3.8 years), 32 power on count. Looks good to me.
My drives that I bought new with 34k+ hours show 580+ power on count lol
How do you do full scan?

My Legion T7 spec sheet says the maximum capacity for 3.5" drive is 2TB. Is that a definitive amount? Or is it something they write as that's all that they tested. I'm looking for an internal drive in a larger size (even 6TB would be more than enough) to backup photos and videos. I'm a bit of a computer noob.
TIA
