From Rtings.com U8N Review: 8.5/10
"We tested the 65-inch Hisense U8N, but the results are also valid for the 85-inch and 100-inch models. The 75-inch model uses an ADS Pro panel, so it performs a bit differently than the other sizes, with worse contrast but a better viewing angle. The 55-inch model is advertised as having a peak brightness of 1800 nits, so it's not nearly as bright, and it has much less dimming zones. Our results aren't valid for either the 55-inch or 75-inch models."

I bought this TV 3 weeks ago from Walmart for $1098, called to price match, and was given a credit for the price difference. I couldn't be happier. The extended warranty is a LOT CHEAPER than Best Buy. I had a Vizio go bad at the 5.5-year mark (after the extended warranty expired) and a Samsung go bad recently at the 4.5-year mark which was covered under the 5-year extended warranty. SquareTrade sent me a new TV on Friday after I filed a claim on Tuesday of the same week,. I sold that replacement TV to buy this Hisense. All my equipment is on APC battery and surge protection so we don't know how long today's TVs will last. I could not spend $1599 plus tax (warranty included) at Costco for the Samsung OLED and risk the TV going bad after the 5-year warranty expires. I have a long family room so no angle viewing issues. The picture is gorgeous. I received 5 percent from a Walmart credit card, and 2 percent from Mr. Rebates, and sold the $50 NBA Gift Card on eBay (net $33). I was interested in the clear distinguishable blacks and vivid picture. This TV has this and so much more. The OLED frame would have required new wall hanging brackets which would have added to the cost. Read the many online reviews and decide for yourself.
You will eventually....there is no safe company when you are buying a TV. You think a Samsung is a safe buy, an LG, a Sony? Take a look at their Forums sometime.

Tempted. I had a tv replaced under warranty recently, and selected last year's U8 (65U8K) but it has not been delivered yet. I could pay an extra $100 to have this one instead. Was hoping the K model would have dropped too and I could get a bit of a refund there, but no dice, still $900. Good deal!

Personally, not touching another Hisense again. I got one for my dad a few years ago and it started off with a weird audio issue where it would shut off randomly. Also audio is not synced properly with the soundbar. I finally was able to get in touch with Hisense tech support and they sent a tech out to replace the system board. Audio delay is still present though but can't do much about that. Also, there is a noticeable white spot on the display, either from the tech replacing the system board or just never noticed it until later on. In any case, its not worth it for me to save money. Going back to the other brands that I never had a problem with.

8.5 overall, which is the same as a Sony x93 - but as they make clear, it's for different reasons.

Great TV and incredible value at this price. Only weakness with this TV is the viewing angles aren't as good as OLEDs.

Would be better off getting an OLED for a few hundred bucks more. A lot of the 65in LG OLEDs frequently go on sale for around 1,200.
Which ones? The B series?

In my experience sync issues are usually caused these days by too much correction. Video delay in most sets is not the issue it used to be and sometimes a soundbar and your TV will try to compensate for the same thing. If you are seeing an explosion before you hear it you have too much delay

Not sure since I have the audio setting set to pass through. I have tried the delay settings built into the TV and no dice. Never had this issue with the previous TV which was an LG from 2015.

The problem is more likely to be your soundbar. Try factory reset it to clear the delay setting on it. But really, upgrade to real speakers!

I just got a lg 65 c3 for $1200 vs this u8n specifically due to the off angle viewing.
