"We tested the 65-inch Hisense U8N, but the results are also valid for the 85-inch and 100-inch models. The 75-inch model uses an ADS Pro panel, so it performs a bit differently than the other sizes, with worse contrast but a better viewing angle. The 55-inch model is advertised as having a peak brightness of 1800 nits, so it's not nearly as bright, and it has much less dimming zones. Our results aren't valid for either the 55-inch or 75-inch models."

I bought this TV 3 weeks ago from Walmart for $1098, called to price match, and was given a credit for the price difference. I couldn't be happier. The extended warranty is a LOT CHEAPER than Best Buy. I had a Vizio go bad at the 5.5-year mark (after the extended warranty expired) and a Samsung go bad recently at the 4.5-year mark which was covered under the 5-year extended warranty. SquareTrade sent me a new TV on Friday after I filed a claim on Tuesday of the same week,. I sold that replacement TV to buy this Hisense. All my equipment is on APC battery and surge protection so we don't know how long today's TVs will last. I could not spend $1599 plus tax (warranty included) at Costco for the Samsung OLED and risk the TV going bad after the 5-year warranty expires. I have a long family room so no angle viewing issues. The picture is gorgeous. I received 5 percent from a Walmart credit card, and 2 percent from Mr. Rebates, and sold the $50 NBA Gift Card on eBay (net $33). I was interested in the clear distinguishable blacks and vivid picture. This TV has this and so much more. The OLED frame would have required new wall hanging brackets which would have added to the cost. Read the many online reviews and decide for yourself.

You will eventually....there is no safe company when you are buying a TV. You think a Samsung is a safe buy, an LG, a Sony? Take a look at their Forums sometime.

Since people may be on fence regarding quality, I am running the Hisense U8G since 2022 April with no regrets. Picture is amazing. I am tempted to upgrade, but can't justify it until a few more years.

Agreed. I got my C1 65" for $1100 on BF 2022, and newer C-series 77" is regularly available in the $1600-1700 range. Better tech, better brand.

I have no issues with Hisense or TCL. They both make decent products, but this is just the wrong price point for them in my opinion. If I'm going to spend more than a few hundred, I want LG, Sony, or perhaps Samsung.

I have purchased the cheaper line up from other brands and other than Toshiba (TV died on me after 4 or 5 years later), none of them have been troublesome at all.

I did exactly the same thing yesterday and I purchased it when they were giving a 100 dollars gift card for the NBA store and 50 dollars BB gift card with the purchased of a 65" or bigger tv that and on top had 4% cash back! So I think I did goodWink really like it and the 75" does have great viewing angles👍🏼

Cool, but I mean the sample size you're pulling from is so extremely small that it doesn't help so much.

I have tested about 8 TVs in the years and while Hisense has made real awful stuff, currently they're stealing TCL's lunch. I have had a great experience with a few of the 6 series (U6GR and U6HF) and an absolutely abysmal experience with a U8H 55" that seems to have had the worst luck of the draw with the panel.

So you aren't alone in your experience, it's just that I've also had the WORST customer service experience with LG so far as going to the point that I'd call them schemers and liars. However, I have a C1 that is ok now that they have replaced the panel (after telling me to use a lighter on the screen in order to fix a cluster of dead pixels within warranty...)

All companies make stinkers, but Hisense customer service wasn't nearly as bad as LG's. Even the repair technicians were lamenting how they have to work with them and how they really didn't like their underhanded business practices. So, while I'd say that I have had good and bad experiences all around (Thinking about a Sony A80J experience that shouldn't have taken over a month to solve).

My point is, brand loyalty or full disloyalty is only harmful to you, the consumer.

I definitely check in on the discourse on the avsforum for an owner thread of the tv in question before buying anything at all. If the tv has issues, or is great, you will get all the info there.

Great TV and incredible value at this price. Only weakness with this TV is the viewing angles aren't as good as OLEDs.
This might seem like a minor issue to some, but for me it was one of the big reasons I switched from my TCL series 6 to the LG C3 that I have now, the picture was clearly better straight on with LED TCL and degraded very quickly as one angled away from that.
