Cort..... this might be a great guitar but they are going to have to go a long way to build the brand up from the garbage electrics guitars they built over my years of playing. Perhaps if you drop 1.4k on the Frank Gambale acoustic you will get quality. Actually you will notice that even Frank has a Kiesel electric on his home page and non of the player's you've heard of on Cort's artist page are playing electrics.

I think this might be the Stupid purchase of the day and not the Stupid Deal of the Day

By all accounts thier high end line is as good as it gets for import models, and the specs certainly look sexy.

However, like yourself, I can't get over how shit thier old stuff was...I dont understand why they didn't just come up with a new name instead of continuing a name that is known for terrible quality

Cort makes the PRS SE models, and many other guitars for other brands such as Ibanez..

I think anyone that buys guitars always has in their mind "what would this resell for?". A inexpensive Cort isn't not going to do well in the secondary market. Five years from now you're seeing this offering a trade for a DS-1 pedal or covered in Danzig stickers for $85.

Remember with First Act tried to make high end guitars? The $120 guitar at Walmart that came with picks and a battery powered amp don't help sell $1,000 guitars.

Considering that I don't have my house paid off, and I make negative money from guitar purchases... I think every "musical instrument/equipment" purchase I make is the "stupid purchase of the day" Big Grin.

Install one in your guitar for < $20 by wiring it directly to the output jack. So hot signal -> kill switch -> outputjack.

In general to all the negative posts above, I have this guitar and the top line corts. If you really want the cort experience then go buy the Cort 290 Fat and higher. Thats the sweet spot. I don't think taking a dump on Ibanez for their crappy GIO line defines Ibanez either.

This is how I rationalize it Mike. I've never lost money selling a guitar I purchased used (not that I only have purchased used). So if you lay out $500 on maybe an Epi Les Paul today and sell in 10 years later there's a good chance you are getting more than $500 for it. And you get to enjoy it for 10 years essentially for free. And more importantly in 2024 everyone needs something for their mental health. This is safer that booze or drugs. Win/Win/Win
