Port your main number to Google Voice. Then you can take advantage of every phone deal without losing your main number.

As a counter to this, if you do any amount of texting, don't do this. The google voice app is pretty ass and you can't use RCS with it. Also some apps will not let you use 2FA with it (chatgpt and lots of dating apps). It's def not worth the inconvenience of not having two numbers on your phone (asking google assistant to send a text and it sends from the wrong number) and dealing with google voice

FYI...

I was a huge advocate of the method which you proposed since 2015, and I have been none the wiser to any downsides...until just this past week. I started having random text messages bounce back saying ""Message not delivered. See Acceptable Use Policy" I have no clue what I did to trigger it, but I couldnt send texts to random people who I have been messaging regularly for a long time.

The forums, reddit...no one had an answer. If you go to google voice forums, there is this one REALLY snarky moderator who basically embodies the "If you dont like it, get out" mentality. I ended up having to use a DIFFERENT GV number to send texts to these people from last Thursday onwards.

*Finally*I was able to change random words in my text to one friend to get it to send. There are some trigger words which make the system think that I am sending spam. It might be the word "students." Maybe it thinks that I am sending a business text??

Regardless, I have been panicking since last week and thinking about whether to keep my phone number on GV after a 9+ year run.
Maybe I'm thinking too logically here but I'm thinking a good place to start would be, exactly as the message stated "See Acceptable Use Policy." Towards the top right corner there may be somewhere for you to click, which opens a menu. One of the choices may be "help" from there it should lead you to the policy the message mentions. Google is pretty organized with their stuff, at least for me.

Extra $5 per month for data to be hotspot. Price went to $159 when clicked on it for 1 year at $99 per 12 months
They can block you from using your phone as a hotspot if you don't pay the extra $5 per month?

Has been 48 hours since I bought. They sent multiple times qr code for esim activation. Also, they assign themselves the network. Even it's bad here they have assigned T-Mobile version to me. Btw the phone is iPhone 14 pro max

You have 60 days to activate it once you purchase it.

There are many services which don't allow using a GV number, such as most banks, telcos etc. You simply will not get texts if you have GV.

I had to give my Mint number to my bank and utility providers.

Can I get this deal now and activate a few months later?

Is this a reliable provider? Don't mind porting my #, but I may want to port it out after the 12 months.

I've read through all comments and it's not clear ... if this is a trustworthy operator. Their site looks like shit.

OnePlus 8 only supports a single 5g Verizon band that is rarely used. I upgraded from an 8 to a OnePlus 12r and get 5g (low/mid band) on infimobile just fine. The lack of 5g your seeing is the lack of modern 5g bands on your OnePlus 8 (low band only, which Verizon hardly uses).
Cept WARP on US Mobile is also VZW. I had the inverse problem...5G on TracFone (VZW) worked fine on my Moto G Stylus 5G, but on US Mobile WARP could only ever get 4G. They didn't know how to fix it, so I gave up.

I am not that daft. I read that document backwards and forwards, and none of the things apply to me. I am not using it for spamming people, I am not harassing people, nor am I using the phone to run a business (unless you count telling friends to pay me back for something).

A scrubbing of the google forums as well as reddit show that people are getting the message randomly, and finding that changing their message slightly or waiting an hour to re-send SOMETIMES fixes it, but not all the time.

The worst part is, I sent the exact same message from another account, and it had no problem. I also sent the same message from the same account a week later, and no problem.

Bough the eSim on Android Google Pixel 8 Pro. Activated immediately with a QR code and got a new number. So far so good. Getting 5G Speed.
