sams club is so much closer than Costco for me but gd Sam's club deals suck compared to what Costco members get. I went to Sam's yesterday and not a damn thing for food items was on sale this month. normally there's a bit here and there with yellow labels designating special price but there was nothing this time
but their hotdog combo is only $1.39. cheaper by a dime

Also Sam's Plus has free shipping. We order small things all the time like paper towels, sugar, chips, etc. Plus they deliver fast and no minimum order required. If it wasn't for the fast free shipping I would drop Sam's in a heartbeat. Greatly prefer Costco even without scan n go like Sam's has...
Starting August 19, they will require a $50 minimum for free shipping and free one day delivery (at least for Sam's Plus. Not sure about other tiers or what other tiers even exist). Not a huge deal for a club store, but could make a difference if you frequently order 1 or 2 items at a time. They sent out an email on June 19 about the policy changes.

I'm members to both and can tell you they are just two different stores. Costco has more organic items than Sam's, but Sam's has more variety. Costco customer service is also 100x better than Sam's, at least for the two Costcos and three Sam's I have been to multiple times.

My one complaint with Costco is the samples. Why people need to feel the need to bunch up around them is insane. But even on busy days, the lines move.

Also, Costco doesn't do store pickup because most of their items they ship for free. I hope they never add free store pickup, just make the store more hectic.

I won't renew my Sam's membership when it expires mainly I'm so much closer to Costco and rarely go to Sam's. Even if I had a choice of would stick with Costco.
Sam's is more for wholesale bulk buying ,a lot of business and restaurants shop there ,it's cheapest pricing compared to other wholesalers , Costco is more for regular shoppers ,I would recommend using Costco pharmacy is you need too , cheapest around on most meds

Costco sucks azz. Every time I go in there it's bumper to bumper carts and people eating samples in the middle of the aisles blocking everyone without a care in the world. It would be nice if they had order pickup. What store in 2024 doesn't have order pickup lol. Also I feel like Sam's clubs prices are better overall.
I like to walk and costco is mostly fine for me except for all the people and people in the way trying to get $0.25 worth of food. Used to have one Costco in my city that nearly void of shoppers, it closed of course but I miss it.

Also would prefer they stop adding organic and non-gmo stuff, which of course is usually marked up more.

Sam's free shipping is nice but they make you order 2 of some (food) items which defeats a lot of the benefit.

😂 I did the same, sat in the box for a year and a half then my FiL was like we're driving up and we are grilling. I put it together and fired it up in 30 minutes 🤣

I bought one of these last year for $150 in October. It's a decent grill overall 9 months in and I suspect it will last over ten years. The propane lighter portion is slow and dealing with the fuel canister is annoying, but I just light it with hand sanitizer. Top vent is undersized IMO.

I've got a few things still waiting for that time when i finally decide to try it. Actually have this and an Oklahoma Joe Bronco Drum smoker that i got half price the year before that, that i actually put together but its sitting right next to it unused. Kept coming across those Walmart end of season grill clearance deals, so i've got too many at my disposal. smh

You can use food stamps for scan and go. Maybe you live in one of those states that needs a physical card swipe

I would order a box of cereal among other things for free shipping and it would get delivered next day free from the store. I figured that was not going to last.

$50 min for free delivery not bad although you have to tip. I guess it becomes a contest of what is the better value - free pickup or tipping a driver with $50 min.

The one good thing about $50 min for free shipping is (hopefully) you won't be forced to order 2 of some items any more.

Costco is better until you become a prisoner in the checkout line. Sam's scan and go is the best.
Costco self checkout has been great but I do like Sam's Scan N Go

Our Sam's Club in San Diego allows Scan n Go payment with EBT. My step-dad uses it. He has to do two different orders though -- food only on the EBT payment.
