It looks the stratocaster variant is also available at this price. I think either would sound great in my studio... Studio apartment after my wife divorces me for buying this guitar.

I must resist. (as I browse the strat 3 times an hour)

Wow, great looking guitar!!
I love that green! It looks darker than the Susan tedeski green.

Suggestion: if you put "guitar" in the title it will get more search hits.

Great find!

Not all ebony is pure black. Try googling the Fender Pale Moon Ebony strats.

I bought this one for same price on St. Pat's day deal (on sale then because of the green). My fretboard is pretty dark. The noiseless pickups are not what you're looking for to give "Tele twang". I swapped mine out for a Jason Isbell set. Fender uses quick connect connections for the Ultras so it's an easy swap back to stock. This is a good deal at $1599.

Beautiful guitar. Reminds me of the 40th anniversary Squier from a year or two ago. Wish I had picked one of those up but I like this darker green even more.

It's much more common now to find ebony that has some non-uniform striping. Nothing 'wrong' with that, as it's just visual and not indicative of inferioir/superior wood beyond the visual appearance. While some might find inky black ebony more desirable in appearance, the main allure of ebony is the increased hardness, being harder than rosewood and even harder still vs maple.

Actually I think the American Pro II has better specs. I bought a 2023 AM Pro II in mystic green and it's nitro instead of poly and it doesn't have the Fender Noiseless pickups which I've had before and was underwhelmed by and definitely wouldn't want again.

American Pros are not nitro.

I have an Am Pro II Strat and find the pickups just too noisy (outside of positions 2 & 4). I agree that the ultra noiseless don't quite have the jangle, but all 4 settings on my Ultra Tele are highly usable. The S-1 switch does a nice job of thickening up the sound in the middle position. Horses for courses, but combined with the compound radius D neck, it's a real tone machine, IMO...

I'm glad the Fender noiseless pickups work for you but IMHO the Fender noiseless pickups just don't sound like Fender single coil pickups. I'm an old fart that plugs straight into vintage tube amps and the Fender Noiseless pickups I've tried for guitar and Jazz Bass lack the "sparkle" and "air" of single coil pickups. They seemed kinda dull and lifeless to me

I wasn't disagreeing regarding the difference in tone, but, as I said, it's "horses for courses". Leaving the pickups aside, I think the compound radius D-neck, additional sculpting of the body & neck joint, 6-saddle chromed brass block and locking tuners take the Ultra significantly beyond the Am Pro II in terms of specs and playability. I think of my Ultra Tele as a reboot of a classic but with modern amenities. The pickups might not be to everyone's taste, but mine's pretty faultless in terms of fit & finish, out-of-the-box setup, has great tuning stability and (IMO) 4 distinct & highly usable sounds.
