These are the version she likes, so if her current pair dies/gest broken/lost, having a backup pair is better than having to find something new that fits as well. If you're just here to whine, probably best to do that elsewhere 😉

This is the same for me. Pros rarely stay in my ear, I've tried all the different combinations of tip sizes. Standard airpods fit well and stay in much better for me. Great price for a pair for this reason.

Like others mentioned, the fit. I have smaller sized ear holes? and the wired ear buds fit perfectly. Even the smaller sized rubber tips wouldn't stay in for newer generations. The 2nd gen airpods fit most similar to the wired ones.

The case will hold a charge, but you have to charge the case using the Lightning cable vs. Wireless/MagSafe charging.
