I rarely write any comments on items, but this thing is a beast. At my work, we have a GMC 2500 with the 6,6 liter motor that sits for long periods of time and the battery just drains out and this thing jumps it every time. Just yesterday, it jumped it 4 times before she would keep running and the jump pack still read 79% capacity. Love this thing.

In for one.

Free shipping even without W+, $30 out the door. Reviews look good.

Wife has been asking for a jump starter ever since I got a few Halo Bolts on a WOOT deal and gave them all as xmas presents to family, but didn't keep one for ourselves. They've all used theirs multiple times for jumps and emergency phone charges. We might want something more feature rich sooner or later, but this is easily powerful enough to jump our car a few times in a charge and will be fine for now.

I have the 1500A model of this and I am impressed with its capability. Used it to jump start 3 sedan cars in a span of about 6 months with no recharging. I am buying another one as a gift for my brothers diesel truck.

Thanks OP

for $30 worth a try - Walmart reviews are good, but odd that no internet reviews seem to exist for this model, only newer ones. And no info on AVAPOW's web site - maybe its a Walmart exclusive SKU.
No I find myself hoping for a dead battery to test!

Really good to see these things come down in price. Super compact and super useful if your battery dies - it's a once every 8 year thing but when it happens, having one of these things around will save you hours waiting for roadside recovery.

If you live up north, just a note that if you're parking up in winter, take the jump starter in with you to keep it at reasonable temperature. These chargers don't like being being at freezing cold temperatures. My ones do have an overrride to force it to jump in the cold but easier to just bring it with you.

Won't the battery on these things die too? We need a portable battery jumper for the portable battery jumper!

ive jumped probably over 20 random cars that i see need help. it takes 3 seconds to bring these things out and help someone where as lining up cars can be a hassle. definitly have gotten my value out of the one i had bought and need one for girlfriends car. the only thing id be worry of is that theres no case for it? so all the cables and wires would be loose in the trunk

Does anyone have pictures of the ports on this thing? I assume there's no USB-C just an input? And no hard case?

Be careful if you plan on leaving these in the car during hot days, the battery could fail and start bloating after a few months or years. Maybe one at home and one in the car would be a good trade-off.

I haven't looked for similar yet as just returned a set like this but would advise checking following for any of these based on my experience, so that you get one that lasts awhile

1) make sure the connector into the unit is good. One I had was made if plastic and while could jump vehicle after just a few disconnects the jump wire connector started coming apart

2) cable length. It's comically bad how short they can be. I understand less length = less resistance on wire but was pushing max length trying to just do positive w a ground. This one looks to be very short as well

3) the alligator clips. These look to be small. Had same problem since mine was too, and had one slip bc barely could fit over terminal when fully open, snap close bc was on edge of said terminal, and spring went flying that held it together. Was able to put back together but that shouldn't happen

All that said, they do work well in that the can jump vehicles and I will be buying another, but this time a unit that addresses all those problems (that shouldn't be in the first place). Noco seems to be the closest so far and know they go on sale at times on Woot, but also am going to look at other options

Can anyone comment how well this holds up in cold? That's my real concern when I need these to come in handy.

In general, Lithium batteries do not work as well in the cold. No experience with this though.
