Webcam on this is ridiculously bad: washed out colors, blown highlights. The webcam on my 11 years old Asus that cost about the same is so much better, it's not comparable.
Thinking about returning mine just because of the webcam.
Can I get a full refund even if I opened it and set it up?
Not going to matter. I swear fate doesn't want me to have this laptop:
UPS had it out for delivery, and then I had a problem with delivery "couldn't verify address, will fix it, and redeliver. I spent 30 minutes trying to figure out how to get hold of a rep from UPS, no luck.
Now it says return to sender.
Dear god, what the hell? I am going to have to reorder this thing again, get a new code, have my amex offer reset, and hopefully CB is still good.
To the person who commented on AMEX offer reset, you are in for a surprise. I was in a similar predicament where I had to return an item where I had used an AMEX offer. According to AMEX, once an offer is redeemed/used up, it is done. It doesn't matter the item is returned before the offer expired in the hope to reorder the item with the offer again being available to your card. The offer, once applied, is done and never returns to your Amex account once used. You can check with AMEX, I didn't pursue the case very hard because in my case by the time I returned the item, AMEX offer had expired. Not dell related but just wanted to put this out there. It could be that the AMEX rep was feeding me bad info, so I would check with AMEX how this would play out.
Good luck.

My friend is going to allow me to use his Amex card, and pay me the cash, if Dell cant fix their address mistake, and reship it without returning for a refund.
What happened is, I put Road instead of rd. Dell shipped it as Cir. Thats why UPS couldnt deliver it. I wont be able to contact dell till monday, when they open up. But I am likely going to order another one on my friends card today, (I have another 10% code). Then wont bother with having them reship it out.
So the issue resolved: Dont mistake road for rd, or they just might really screw it up!

This happened to me recently. Amex clawed back an Amex offer that and returned. I tried ordering again to preserve the offer and never got the offer.
Looks for similar laptop (2 in 1) for collage kid. Does this laptop battery lasts for 8 hours? Does it come with digital pen to take notes? I have Amex CB offer. Waiting for 10% dell sing up coupon to come.
I have Amex gold, and the offers just are not there to force platinum.
When my business expands, I will likely look into it.
I know another commenter on this thread had platinum, and got a good offer.
The fee with platinum though....
I have this offer on my amex blue card which is no fee card. Still waiting for coupon to come. Do we need to use the coupon with the same account? are coupons transferable? Still thinking between regular 16" vs 2 in 1 version. 2 in 1 version comes with a touch screen. In between, how is the hinge on these models? Are there made of plastic like basic inspiron 15" models. My old inspiron model hinge is broken in 8 months of usage.
I have both amex dell cash back offers in amex blue account ($105 with $550 and $50 with $250). Are there stack if i make one purchase of $550 (after tax)?
How is the keyboard on this laptop? Currently using an HP Pavilion, and love the feeling.
Was a nice upgrade from the cheap entry level HP laptop that I got from costco.

Seasoned shoppers generally know more than customer service reps on the ins and outs of promos/offers. If you've ever seen someone in these forums interpreting the T&Cs of an offer with no actual experience doing it themselves, that's pretty much what the reps are doing.
My experience over the years with returning an item that was part of an AMEX offer is that I got the offer again after making another purchase within the offer period. This was for offers that allowed multiple purchases within the offer period to meet the requirement.

Although this may be correct in the past and potentially correct now as well (which would imply I have been repeatedly told of by customer care), you would be well advised to report back the next time you go through this experiment for everyone's benefit since you are the first person I've seen post something contrary to what happens. Just looking out for fellow SD shoppers.
