From all my research into it, I believe this is a basic smart watch with no on-board GPS or music storage.

In a way, I love and miss my bip. No frills, everything I needed it to do, stupidly long battery life, even when it was old and decrepit. 10/10 would go back again if I didn't have current watches.

for those that are curious, this does _not_ have access to the amazfit app store -- that said, it's still a great watch for the price for basic features and great battery life

Does this watch do phone notifications?
I see in one of the comments it does show phone calls and text messages - just can't reply other than pre-defined responses.

I bought the 3, then upgraded to the 5. For the money, they cant be beat. And the battery life is just phenomenal. Lasts at least a week for me.

No actually Amazfit makes pretty good fitness trackers. Won't call them smartwatches because Real Smart watches do a lot more things. However I'm going 3 years strong with my Amazfit T Rex. Battery still lasts 2 weeks, used to last 3, but that's what batteries do they go bad. For $25 as a basic step and workout tracker this is great.
