Vulcan Z isn't SLC. I don't even think there are anymore MLC drives around.
So it's TLC [techpowerup.com].

I think Vulcan Z is considered higher end, but reviews suggest [techpowerup.com] it's DRAM-less, so I don't see what advantages it might have
I couldn't find much AX2 reviews. Maybe it's too new.

The official [teamgroupinc.com] specs [teamgroupinc.com] don't shed any more light. Same TBW.

So the differences between AX2 and Vulcan Z are unclear.
$63 is how much I will pay for a 2tb! Summer if 2023 prices! Too bad you can keep dropping the price!
The 1 TB was like $30 last year

Team group has 1 TB drives for $49.99 which consists of this one, their T-force Vulcan Z and their T-force Vulcan Z QLC. What's the difference between all of them?

Figured it out. One's TLC, the other is SLC and the other QLC. So the Vulcan Z SLC has my vote over this one which is just TLC.

Not the worst deal in the world. I used one of these drives to replace the spinning disk in an old Dell. Sure, it doesn't have the performance of the better 2.5 Sata SSDs, but when you compare the peformance to an old 5400rpm hard drive, it's night and day. That's really the target market for these and where they excel.

None are SLC, if they were its the only thing everyone would buy, they have dynamic slc cache like any other drive.

I am tempted to pick up a 512 as an external drive for my kids' Xbox One. Will this work for it, if I stick it in a SATA-to-USB3 enclosure?

Would like to add the 2TB to my EQ12 N100 PC :
https://www.bee-link.com/products/eq12-n100

Would like to move BlueIris to it and use this disk. I know WD purple etc., and have it in my current SFF setup, but have read the actual longevity on (some/most) SSDs are fine as surveillance drives ( a few years is OK..) .
Haven't kept up with exact technology types for SSDs lately.

How will the 2TB work for this purpose? Insights? Thx.
