The plans are so expensive that it's not a great deal. It certainly doesn't compare to the one from T-Mobile a few years ago where you could trade in a 250 dollar phone, and get a 830 dollar credit, without changing plans.

Inflation everywhere, what's next?
$100 per line plan and $5000 for the phone?

If you aren't planning on changing plans or opening new lines, deals like this aren't worth it.
But for users already on these plans; you can get a used S9 for about $150 and trade it in to get a $1,100 credit. I think that's a good deal IF you're already on that plan

When did the flip series get to be so expensive at msrp? Didn't it use to be around 700-800?

Who's dumb enough to even have these plans? How you get suckered into such inflated plans?

And IF you don't need the phone unlocked. Now, paying off early to unlock voids future credits.

This is indeed such a dumb rule introduced by T-Mobile as of July 1st this year. Has anyone figured out a workaround to this or are they very strict about this now?

Haven't upgraded any of my 6 lines thru TMO since 2021? when they had the great deal on the iPhone 12, that my wife is still using. I'm still using my S20 Ultra that is getting a little laggy but works well enough. Only reason I am still with TMO my cheap grandfathered plan, definitely not for their "5G" and trade in deals.
