A lot of characters and other things in this game are apparently locked behind paid DLC this time around. It might be better to wait until the "Ultimate" edition goes on sale.

Tekken 7 origins is $15 in the PSStore. Is 8 worth the additional $20? New to gaming, and have only played Fortnite and Mortal Combat. Thanks for the help.

As a casual gamer, I must say it's worth it for the epic story and soundtrack. I've never played the previous games but the graphics are definitely next level. So much to do with arcade quest, tekken ball, and other solo content apart from your typical online play.

If you have PS+ and want to play online, Tekken 8 is probably a better investment as it is the current iteration so you will find more players. If you don't want to play online, I'd say there is probably not much reason to get this game.
