Nespresso is different from a regular espresso machine because they're specific pods carefully designed by Nespresso to achieve a certain flavor profile (and they're very good). A google search will show that the ideal pressure for brewing a shot of espresso is between 7-11 bar, however this is a very subjective topic and why espresso/coffee is so fun and versatile. Also having a 20bar machine doesn't mean you'll always be brewing at 20 bars of pressure. I just means the pump is capable of producing that amount of pressure. You can adjust with grind size and tamp pressure to play around with extraction to find what you like. There's really no right way to brew espresso, only the way you like it.

Figured I'd go through the reviews at Best buy since there's a lot of speculation on here. So it seems like there were some faulty units out of the box which people could have just returned but left one star reviews anyway. And then there's some other reviews that seem mostly like user error. And then there's an overwhelming majority of excellent reviews for the unit. including one that says you can use many styles of coffee, I can't speak to the truth of that you can buy espresso ground if buying a $200 grinder is a deal breaker for you. another customer compares it to his much more expensive breville machine and says it's just as good. also another customer says that he is drinking coffee daily of all types for basically his entire life and he finds this unit to produce a great quality brew.

personally I don't mind taking a chance for 30 bucks.

they even throw in two months of a cooking streaming service for free lol.

Are you suggesting 20 bars is a lot of pressure or a little pressure?

I was waiting for my basic $200 Delonghi espresso machine to go on sale to buy it as a gift.

This may be junk. Idk.

But I'm going to actually gift this first.... See if they actually will use it. If they do, maybe then I'll consider a better model for Xmas.

$30?? . Imagine the amounts of heavy metals and plastics in this POS. Can't wait to boil water in this cheaply made POS and drink all of that leached garbage up. Another throwaway piece of crap to fill up our landfills with. USA! Philips LatteGo / Bosch VeroCafe or nothing. They go on sale during Black Friday.

I'm impressed this thing has a two year warranty honestly.

$30 for a week of espresso at most is not smart. Quality is atrocious and will break before long. Caveat emptor.

Bingo.

One random guy on slick deals or a hundred plus reviews on Best buy.
Look for $30 I'm sure this is worth the try but let's at least be realistic here.

Suddenly we're trusting Best Buy reviews? If it was Amazon half of the people here would already be posting Fakespot analysis and calling them out as fake.

Here's a simple test for you, search on YouTube or Reddit or even Google for evidence of a single actual human that used this machine. Notice how there's like nothing? You'd think for 100+ reviews someone would have a video on it, like even of an unboxing.

Are you sure it's junk?
I'm planning to buy
Please advise
I can't speak for this item but I have multiple Bella products, a slow cooker(had it for more than 8 years) and a panini maker(more than 5 years). like everyone else, at the that time I was surprised at the price and decided to buy it with no expectations. I have been extremely surprised with the quality, they still work perfectly. The panini maker is oversized and perfect for my use. So whatever the quality of this item, the other products I have purchased from Bella have lasted a long time and worked perfectly as they were advertised. My $0.02

Noob question: can I use a grinder to fine grind regular ground coffee? I don't want to buy different coffee when I already have regular ground coffee. Thanks.
