Did you think they were in business to send you free phones?
Not at all. Why do they charge me to PORT IN a number? Aren't I already going to be paying for service?

Um, of course? That's how free phones have always been?
Have they? I thought they were "paid for" by you paying for service for a particular period of time, not being charged to just port-in a number (basically becoming a customer before even choosing service).

I had the same issue, think it was because I selected the $55 plan first.. I had to go back and register with a different email and go through the whole process again, selecting the $65 plan and it worked fine..
Tried that and it says the same thing. I tried putting my gv phone number which I didn't port yet.

Did you go through the id verification?
Yes

Edit: I closed the whole thing and re-ordered the phone with the $65 plan. FYI, I was only able to order 1 phone, could not order 2 phones. Even though the phone is 'free' i have to pay taxes for the phone which cost a total of around $90 total. Oh well.

For me, I default to U1 where available, in my experience U1 with XAA is the most debloated software (might have facebook or whatsapp on it by default). It doesn't include the carrier software that you can't uninstall or turn off.
Ok, I figure you're all talking about using Odin to flash a Samsung phone. But where does one go to download Odin and the U1 - XAA software? It seems Odin is intended as an internal Samsung tool and is not supposed to be publicly released.

- I also use a device called Chargie (google it if interested) that limits the maximum charge, and don't charge it above 70% unless I'm going on a long road trip or will really need it, and won't charge it at all if it gets too hot. (for battery life)
Thanks for the tip on Chargie. I had never heard for that before and will be looking into that more. There doesn't seem to be much if any discussion about that device on SD before. I've been using the AccuBattery app to create a notification on when to stop charging at a certain charge level, but the app cannot actually stop the charging. That Chargie device seems to be what I'm looking for to actually stop the charging. I would think though that phone manufacturers could include a built-in app to stop charging once a certain charge level is reached and have always wondered why no one has done so.

How much is the charge to PORT IN a number? I didn't see that anywhere.

Google Voice charges $20 to port in a number (& $3 to port out) but Total does not charge to port in. I've done 2 in recent months & there was no fee.

This will require a DM, I don't want to get banned.

No one can tell you, a54 has 5g, ip11 doesn't, etc. I use both, too much family needs help so have to keep up. Personally, when I want something reliable I grab my iphone. Used to do all that flashing etc on android, now I just want it to work. Last, never owned an android that over time didn't slow down-never owned an iphone that did.

I was able to order 2 after adding second $65 plan on main screen it discounts it to $30 then add device to the plan at cart. Asked for another text verification. Total was $95 + "$19.50x2 Tax on $279 Free Device"

2 shipped Sunday but UPS just got package tuesday in Louisville KY it shows.

apparently this doesn't work on ATT once unlocked and blocking T-Mobile 5G Bands 41/71 not sure if odin flashing to U1 model will allow those bands to work.

"The IMEI comes back as not compatible on Cricket & AT&T.

-Works on T-Mobile, but missing bands 41 & 71 (maybe others too, but doesn't matter since 71 is a must)

-Shows compatible on Verizon, but having MMS issues on US Mobile"
