You are going to see that on any pet store branded tank. Tanks leak, it's a real concern.

However, most people who buy a fish tank don't turn around and leave a good review. It's expected to hold water, and if it does they think nothing of it and move on with their life, never thinking to leave a review.

Aqueon is a name brand, petco is a major retailer, this is a good deal, there is zero reason for SD to force this deal. It's not like it's some dime a dozen brand names that show up every week (those are the shill posts)

Great deal on a big tank
Do a leak test first, if you can

And for people that are newish to the hobby - this is a LOT of weight - keep that in consideration of where you're placing it
(Edit - meaning, ideally this is going to be on the slab, but if it's not, make sure it's being placed perpendicular to the supporting structure, not parallel. You could potentially focus close to a thousand pounds on a single beam, which could make bad things happen)

Yep! A gallon of water is 8.35 pounds x 75 = 626.25 pounds. And that's not counting the weight of the aquarium, the stand, sand/gravel, accessories, etc.

Most proper stands have the normal board on the outside but also a 1x1 frame plus middle section to support the whole thing.

to add onto every advice, one thing i do is place a thin foam or insert under the tank to distribute the weight evenly. no table is exactly flat nor every tank os completely flat. any small unbalanced area could introduce a stress point in the glass that can give out over time.

Anybody read the real reviews on the website, tons of complaints on quality buyer beware. I'm really thinking Slickdeals pushes products with fake accounts. Shameful if true, I have been here for many years
And you think an account that was created 10 years earlier than yours, with 10x reps of yours, is fake, in order to promote a shameful product sold at a shameful national chain pet store?

I'm talking about inside of your home - joists, stringers, concrete slab.

Tank+water is just under 700 lbs, depending on what you use for substrate, filtration, lighting, stand, and rocks, you're going to be nearing 1000lbs - you need to consider what structure is available to support that weight.

i'm not saying yours is fake, but there are indeed PLENTY of 10-year-old (and older) accounts on here with tons of reps which are absolutely fake and used to shill "deals".

SD is a shell of what it once was, which is actually a shame.

Thank you for not saying my account is fake.

Slickdeal should be focus on deal's price as its first intention. Put reviews aside, This is good deal and deserves to be brought to people's attention. The reviews itself is relying on buyer's own research before pulling the trigger. Which is what the retails website reviews and Slickdeals comment meant for, in which you did a good thing to bring it up to people's attention of which this product has some bad reviews. So thank you. However in my personal experience both this product brand and the retails has been reliable and reputable. I have no problem for my many tanks and other aquatic stuff.

solid deal. reminds me of those $1/gal sales they used to have and this is even slightly better.

aqueon a budget tank brand so there will be causes of leaks, cracks, etc. always inspect a tank carefully and do a proper leak test before setting it up. this is true for any brand, but especially true for budget brands that use thinner glass and not the highest quality silicone application. If you are savvy enough, bad silicone seals can be fixed and silicone is cheap. The only true problematic issue would be cracks in the glass or bracing.

These tanks use thinner glass and silicone that isn't rated for high water pressure (hence the bracing) so checking for cracks in the glass and bracing are important when you first get the tank and as part of routine maintenance.

yes, it will be HEAVY as others have said. be careful where you put it and how you place it (make sure it's level and not twisted) or you'll be asking for trouble.

If you aren't using it for an aquarium, a lot less to worry about it. Kind of tempted to get one for a terrarium.

I've had this for a few years now. No issues, think i paid around this price (buck a gallon). Much better than 55 gallon. I reinforced the flood under it (basement) to shift the weight to the basement slab. No issues.
