Unless you need something very thin and light, this is not a good deal. Not very powerful, will overheat easily. Only for very light work like movies or web browsing.

Also, having owned a 1080p 15.6" OLED laptop, that resolution looks absolutely terrible on OLED screens, especially for text. This is due to the non standard subpixel arrangement that OLED panels use. You really need higher resolution OLED displays to counter this effect.

So even for web browsing, this is not an ideal laptop due to the low resolution. I really noticed the grainy screen door effect on my 1080p OLED Samsung Galaxy Book Pro. Side by side, the regular LCD 1080p panel on my LG Gram 15 looked so much better for text. The OLED panel does have better colors and contrast, but the downsides made it a much worse experience compared to the LCD panel.

The 125H is the least powerful Intel chip, but more importantly it is going to be thermal throttled to hell from the world's thinnest laptop. No heat dissipation of significance.

$80 more I would (and did) get this:
https://slickdeals.net/f/17502927-asus-vivobook-s-15-15-6-3k-oled-120hz-intel-ultra-7-155h-16gb-lpdd...

Still available for $749. 3K 120Hz OLED screen and Ultra 7 CPU. A little more than 2.18lbs though. Wink

It's really all about what you do. These are great for very tablet like portability for typical school work and tv. The size and weight matter if it's going everywhere with you but if it's ambition is to be a high performance laptop for gaming that's another story

Add two of the LG Gram Mouse instead. They're $19.99 each, shipping is free, so it actually works out cheaper than the HDMI cables and probably slightly more useful - who doesn't have a dozen extra HDMI cables already?

Also, use coupon code CAP5ODIQ36G624 for an extra 5% off.

Check your credit card and PayPal offers - I see another 4% on several.

And there's that certain site that's not on the bottom. Wink

I never heard of this nor have I owned a laptop with oled. This interesting. Thanks for sharing. Is 2K screen good enough or do you think you need 4k?

Does this issue apply to all laptop models/brands that use oled btw?

You're welcome. Yes, 2K vertical or 3.2K horizontal (3200x2000) should be okay at 16". I also found 2880x1800 at 14" to be totally fine for text. Those are the two most common OLED screen sizes and resolutions. Also, most laptops with these displays have the added bonus of having higher refresh rate panels (120Hz or at least 90Hz). The 15.6" 1080p panel on the Gram Super Slim is 60Hz, afaik.

4K panels are great for text, but almost all of them are 60Hz, and that resolution will also drain your battery a lot faster than 3.2K or 2.8K displays.

That's a totally different category of laptop when it comes to weight. The only reason to buy and LG Gram is the weight, and that 1lb+ will make a HUGE difference in how you use the laptop. I have a 3.1lbs Gram 17 and 2.48lbs Gram 15, and I still always reach for the Gram 15 as it feels so much lighter. Once you get used to super light laptops, it is almost impossible to go back to heavier laptops.

I agree. I have a Samsung Galaxy book pro 15.6" with OLED, the 1080p looks very bad, you can see every pixel clearly!!! I miss IPS LCD screen very much!!
