PS5 & Xbox Series X Versions:
The MGS 1, 2, and 3 games are on the disc. They just need to be installed separately. Each region has their own versions on the disc. Meaning the US version has the US versions of the games on disc. Everything else included with the disc is a download. Yes, even the "bonus content" on the disc are downloads.
Switch Version:
The MGS 1, 2, and 3 are not included in the cartridge. They need to be downloaded. Also not that these are locked to 30fps on the Switch (to be expected). The cartridge only includes the NES games.

Just fyi only games on switch version are
Metal gear (MSX), metal gear 2: solid snake, metal gear (NES), snakes revenge. The rest you have to download.
Really dumb question, but the version that says Xbox Series X. Will that only work on the black, Series X and not on the white, Series S? It's probably a self answering question, but you're telling me that they make some games that will ONLY work on the Series X even though both X and S are the same "generations" and were released on the same day back in 2020? I just can't get my head wrapped around that.
It's labeled as such because it indicates that the digital version will work on both consoles. The Series S is digital only so the physical copy will only work on the Series X console.
they are after Delta. To get on my video soapbox- I find it weird that they don't remake games that graphically need it over others. I understand money and name-wise its better to go with the most notable (such as doing Silent Hill 2 over 1) but for games like MGS I feel like Metal Gear (Not metal gear solid) would be better to do since its kind of a sequel to MGS5 and a prequel to MGS.
I'm sure you're realized that Konami has been making a lot of dumb decisions since they fired Kojima and started focusing on pachinko machines... So really that's not a surprise for their bizarre decisions

Ohhhhh that makes too much sense. Thanks for clarifying that for me
If it was for a Steam key, I'd likely get it. But I already have the HD Collection (MGS 2 and 3) when it was $5 for Xbox. $20 just for MGS 1 doesn't seem worth it
How different are these from the 360 version that is BC?
The anti-aliasing and texture filtering urgently need fixing on Series X and Switch. It's a bizarre situation on Series X as well, given the Master Collection produces a worse image than what we already had in the Xbox 360 HD Collection, running in back-compat on Series X. The older 2011 release includes anti-aliasing for a start - and by running it on a Series X via back-compat, higher-grade texture filtering is forced. In other words, running your old copy of the HD Collection on Series X produces better results than this new collection from Konami. Check out the comparison shots a little higher in this piece to see the difference - it's quite stark

Do you know if this means you can play those without the cartridge inserted? Or do you download them but still need to have the cartridge inserted?
