I've had this for a couple of years now. Works great and way cheaper than buying AAs.

You can stack these dual charging ports into each other's USB passthru for multiple battery pairs charging for endless couch co-op play.

Tough to say, rechargeable AAs work really well now (e.g. Enerloop, etc). Though perhaps these have more capacity.

I have an older version for Xbox One and it's worked great for years. I didn't expect much, but they've worked great.

Thank you! Been looking for this a long time. The controller has been eating my AA batteries stock. Had a $10 best buy coupon too!

These actually have significantly less capacity than AA rechargeables.
  • Each pack in this set is 1,200 mAh
  • 2 standard AA eneloops (in series) are 1,900 mAh minimum (battery pack is 63% of this capacity)
  • 2 Pro AA eneloops (in series) are 2,450 mAh minimum (battery pack is 49% of this capacity)
Since everyone's gaming habits are different, effectively lifetime is always an estimate. I've been using eneloop Pros in all my Xbox controllers for years, and with my configuration (I don't like vibration, no headset), they usually last me 3-4 weeks between charges with 2-3 sessions a week. At that rate, their rated 500 recharges will last me just under 29 years. Standard ones have a lower capacity, but are rated for 2,000 recharges, so you'll have to swap them out a little more frequently, but their total life will be much longer.

Packs like this are fine for people who don't have high power draws (vibration, plugged in headset) over long sessions and prefer putting their controllers on a charger between sessions. If you prefer putting your controller anywhere (or have a high power draw) and want to maximize time between charges while minimizing cost, rechargeable AAs are the way to go.

Thanks...skipping this, I have plenty of eneloops anyway
