No they are moving on to the Searwood.

"Weber states, "We are transitioning our pellet offering to Searwood in the US and will not manufacture new SmokeFire grills for the North American market. The SmokeFire pellet grill will continue to delight cooks worldwide. We are committed to supporting every SmokeFire grill owner's enjoyment of this unique cooker — assisting them with their needs, answering questions, and providing ongoing cooking inspiration."

I have the EX6, the larger version and love this grill.

1. Weber has an outstanding customer service approach and has always been there if I have issues with this grill. I had a couple minor ones and they fixed it right away.

2. The WiFi is a game changer. If I am driving home and decide that I want to grill, I can fire up the grill remotely. Then I can stop at the butcher shop and by the time I get home, I can start grilling immediately.

3. I love the color and the fit/finish.

The only con is that your cooking will vary greatly based on the type of pellets you use. Some may not like the smoky flavor and it does have a learning curve.

All in all, I would recommend.

I shopped rectec, Green Mountain and The Smoke fire. The Weber was on sale and had a 100 day love it or leave it. 8 months later and I LOVE the Weber. Better smoke flavor. Great Smoking App and built like a tank. They delivered it on a pallet with a forklift dolly. Paid over double this and it was worth every penny.

I had the EX6 since the day it was announced. Here is my story, granted many things have changed over the time i had this but lets start.

Preorder delivery delayed by days weeks. Was suppose to get it before SuperBowl of what 2020? Came in late, lots of damaged parts. Some due to shipping others due to Weber packaging quality control. Was on the phone with support for several months sorting parts and issues out. At one point, they had sent me so many replacement parts i had 80% of a second grill. But good luck getting other parts to complete the second one, Weber was not selling parts to the grills at the time since they needed them, and they were replacing them under warranty.

Pellet issues. Several issues due to pellets burning out of control, but the biggest one is flameouts. Took all the precautionary steps to avoid them, using right pellets, proper storage, clean, removing pellet hopper finger guards, pellet hopper grill cover etc. Only after Weber has sent me a new motor and auger did my flameouts stopped. By this time it was well over a year of ownership. Sad part was you could never predict when this would happen and the dreaded shut down cycle of 15 minutes alway pushed dinner/lunch into late territorry.

Part failutes, motors, control boards, fan, firepot, grates supports. Worst ones was right outside of warranty period the support for flavor bars burned/rusted through. I'm in a no humidity area and grill lives under the cover, that was not covered under warranty neither was the little pellet grill grate, oh and it's on indefinite back order.

Grilling. While i enjoy grilling on the Smokefire, it's very inconsistent, Right side runs extremely hot, while the left side is cold. Not a big deal since i use the ares for direct and indirect areas. Becomes a disadvantage when you are cooking for a group and theres not enough room on the grill to constantly be shuffling cold and burnt food around. Or there's too much of food to do so.

While the outside looks like it's brand new when cleaned off, it's going up on marketplace before another part fails and i have to shell out $150 for parts just to make this work again. And the replacement will be a pellet grill just not from Weber.

I would put my $475 towards another pellet grill. My father-in-law has one and I've had to change the motor/auger on it 3 separate times. The last fix was the upgraded gen of the motor/auger that has fixed the issue for over a year now. It took some back and forth with Weber, but all the parts were covered each time. If you do buy it, make sure you get small pellets as the longer ones cause issues.

If you are looking for another brand in the same price range, I've had my Camp Chef for 8+ years with no issues. My dad purchased the newer version Camp Chef about 4 years ago and has had the same luck.

I also have an EX6 Gen 2. I find that I will have a string of really good cooks and then a string of problems, like flameouts, pellets stuck in the chute, temp issues, etc. I wasn't able to get it to 500 degrees before this year.

So if you are handy and don't mind a bit of a challenge every once in a while, this is a great deal. The features are excellent but be prepared for some babysitting.

I just ordered this and got free assembly. You choose this on the checkout when you get to the special delivery option page.
Took the plunge as well but just inside my garage delivery and no assembly. I've never seen these "assembly" people do things right. "Hey assembly guy, what are all those extra screws for? "They are just extra stuff they always send", as he throws the unused hardware into a box full of unused new hardware in his truck. I trust my own careful assembly manual guided mechanical skills way more.

I have the Gen2 and it still had pellet issues. The pellets back up in the shoot and cause fires in the shoot. I would stay away from this model. RecTeq and others are better. You won't be able to cook because you'll be so frustrated with the issues. Watch Youtube reviews online. Issues were not fixed on my Gen2 model.
I can agree. I have the gen 2 and it has the issues mentioned above. Weber got the Searwood right on the backs of us suckers who bought the gen 1 and gen 2 Smokefires. Notice how the Searwood goes back on the traditional designs of Trager and others. Curse the day I bought this thing. I don't even use it anymore. It's a fire hazard you can't walk away from it while it's cooking if the auger overloads the pellets...

I would think there would be a recall or class action lawsuit if these were a fire hazard.

Searwood's are the new pellet grills for Weber. These are the older pellet grills with a few negatives design wise. There's a reason it's 'marked down'.

Yes, discontinued previous model. Half the price of the new model as well.

Honestly did not know that remotely starting an unattended fire is a thing in the grilling community. Learn something new everyday. Is it that secure?

It's not a thing, it's a lets slap features into an app and advertise it as an advantage. The grill takes 15 minutes on a summer day to heat up, 25 during winters 0F to reach 600 degrees. Remotely starting a grill is not a feature in the grilling community, only special individuals think that's a plus. I only use the app in bluetooth mode to tell me what's the internal temperature. If that stops working i'll use a probe with a mononitor like i have for years before.

If you are worried about hacker getting into your smokefire and starting up the grill remotely, you have bigger issues to worry about. Because someone with enough skill has either hacked your WIFI and now has access to all your smart devices in the home. Or they hacked Webers app which is a different problem altogether.

They just lowered the price $50. I know from previous experience they won't price adjust, so I just cancelled my delivery for today and reordered.

Thanks for the heads up, I just did the same. $50 back in my pocket sounds good to me.
