What types of environments do you use them in? In transit? Or just at home ?

I'm really close to picking up a pair for the novelty, but even at this price it seems steep for just a gadget toy. I do want something to extend my monitor when working remotely, though (like on a trainride/flight/coffee shop).

Can you still see your surroundings if using them outdoors/in public?

I picked up the Air Pro 2 because I do a lot of business travel. They work amazingly well with the Steam Deck and okay with my phone (S22 Ultra) and laptop. With that said, the device is certainly not flawless, and a little part of me wishes I just went with the original Airs for this price. The main value the Air 2 Pro brings is that you can dim the lenses, but honestly just using the included cover works well enough. I did buy some custom moldings that block side light from Etsy which helped a lot. I picked up an adapter to use it with my Switch, but I haven't tried it yet.

Overall I would recommend it if you are a gamer and do a bit of travel or want a more comfortable in bed or reclined gaming position. I would not pick it up for productivity at this point. The AR functions are more of a gimmick at this point as well.

This is the price you should be paying for these normally. I've owned these, sold them, bought a pair of vitures and sold those too. Then I bought and sold a pair of xreals again and sold them and bought a used pair of vitures off eBay for $160. I like the vitures better because if your nearsighted there's dials on the top that can adjust focus l. You can connect them to your phone and literally do whatever you want. Movies, 3d movies, high refresh rate game streaming. They are pretty cool, you just have to get used to them. If you put them on and your like I made a mistake, just stop give it a couple days and see if you feel different. That's what happened for me. I got used to them and now I love them.

You're right. My mistake. I was looking at the other thread earlier from the manufacturer's website and posted here by accident. Sorryshake head
