I did it and have done two more with them over the past five years. No problem with them posting for me

Hard for most to do unless you've got some experience doing it, enjoy it as a hobby, or have background in critical reading
Not throwing shade. Just saying that most can't and don't read fine print or know how to. That's not a bad thing. It's just a skill some have and some don't. But needed for this particular endeavor
And a lot of slickdeals deals incidentally. Read fine print and data points, etc. And some digital literacy needed too
This post is making me crack up. I agree but also it's just written in such a funny neutral-pity tone 😂
All these Banks offering these great deals.... But they seem to want government checks or something? I could make a big deposit but being self-employed I don't get a direct deposit, so I guess they don't want my money.
Careful with them. They charge me $6.95 a month, then credit me $6.95. Although trivial, this is earned income.
Then, if I dip negative, it's like fee after fee after fee. They waived since I don't work, but really took a lot of time. I guess that might be normal now. Can't just also walk in and say, hey, fix this crap.
My work only provides physical paycheck (old heads, wont change) which I then deposit using my phone mobile app. Would this deal work for me?
If you know where to look (Google doctor of credit method for direct deposit), you can find ways to get around the direct deposit requirement. Namely, you ACH push in from another bank. I did Ally bank and it worked for me last month.
Two things to keep in mind, though: it's YMMV and DPs always change, and also to NOT call the bank asking for bonus you're trying to get via this sort of workaround. It just draws unwanted attention to the workaround

I just tried to open an account and after I entered my Zip code (D/FW area of TX), I received a message saying "U.S. Bank doesn't offer checking or savings accounts in your area."

It was a rant I was trying to make sound somewhat respectful lol
