Have the 8 GB RAM, and turning on the "reduce animations" (Settings -> Accessibility -> Vision enhancements -> Reduce animations (toggle on) made a HUGE difference and is a game changer! Feels much faster and snappier in response. Initially had animations reduced to 0.5x under the developer option, and still felt jittery at times. But the reduce animation makes this feel like a $500+ tablet!

Looks like Navy is back in stock for 128 GB + 8 GM RAM after the sale price had ended, and now at $219.99. I'm guessing that they had set a quantity limit under that app sale price.

Yes there are ways to install google play and root the system to make changes and all that, but unless you got it for free, why?
I have a free fire tablet that i just use for youtube, but man it bugs me at times that it's not like youtube on android and forget about doing anything else other than reading and simple streaming media.
I have the Amzn 7" that I use not so often, just maybe VLC or sometimes YT. Didn't experience any inconvenience so far, maybe I have already convinced myself not to expect too much from these, if compared with a iPad.

Used the Amazon 7" I like the size since it can be held with 1 hand , fit in smaller spaces to carry around. But it got laggy eventually. Upgrade to iPad 7th gen then went to fire max 11 because iPad stopped charging. After installing google play store I'm content with it. Unless I can find another iPad deal won't see myself switching back anytime soon

I want to buy my wife a tablet that she will use strictly for media consumption (youtube, netflix, movies etc).
