These are the paddles you let your friends who are new to pickleball ... borrow, knowing they may never be returned.

True, but someone who is new should play with garbage paddles at least a few times before committing $100. Maybe even try a nice paddle of a friend for a few games.

A beginner what have any idea what a drop, spin, touch, reset etc mean.

Always good to have for people out of town wanting to play or friends (new to the sport) want to try it out. Most likely they are wooden, but pickleballcentral sells similarly for $15+, so awesome for free.

More people than you would think. Many HOAs/Parks/etc are converting Tennis courts to Pickleball courts.
