It's a good starter printer for the price but it's not beginner friendly. You'll have to learn how to properly level the bed (auto bed leveling is not 100% that's why it has wheels), how to calibrate the filament flow and more. You'll also get dropped into the "what upgrades to print" black hole. But if you are willing to accept all that and willing to learn then this can print just as good as more expensive printers so for $100 is not bad of a deal.

Get a bambu labs A1 mini. It will just work. You can get a discount on tiktok shop that puts it at $169

ive been using this printer a few times a week for the last 6 months or so. definitely consider myself still an amateur hobbyist. i haven't really had to tinker with this at all beyond adjusting the belt and wheel tension, which they make easy. the print quality is great, in my opinion. this is my second printer (monoprice mini pro v2 or something was my first), and i feel like the S1 prints better in every way.

I wouldn't call it trash, it has its use case. If you are a designer/engineer who is looking to print functional prototypes, don't have time to mess around with a printer, and have the funds then go with a Bambu printer. If you are a young person or someone looking for a new hobby then this fits the bill. You will actually learn about 3d printing. It will be a slower process but you'll learn a lot more than buying a printer that just works.

The cheapest printer you'll find that just works is going to be the Bambu A1 mini. I thought the cheapest you can find that is around $200 not someone here said it can be had for $169 which is a great deal for that printer. It's small though.

I don't think I had to tinker with anything when I setup the ender 3 pro. It's way more friendly than self assembling an Anet A8 so not a big deal, this is a great price to get started.

I don't know if you're gonna be able to get a 3-D printer, even though it's refurbished, under $100 anytime soon again. Especially with a one-year warranty. The choice is yours.

I just posted further down this thread that you can get the ANYCUBIC KOBRA 2 on eBay using the same coupon. I ended up ordering one for less than $85 shipped. I'm being told that it's fairly easy to setup.

I've had it, it's a damn Maserati. The ambient temperature goes down 10 degrees and the calibration is busted. People want to tune, not deal with the high maintainable crap every 2 months.
