Review states they come apart for cleaning. I can't tell. As most people already know, kitchen scissors used to cut food, especially raw meat, need to separate into two pieces so every part can be properly cleaned and sterilized. Some do, some don't.

Shows as 5 bucks for me, currently.

Wondering same thing; won't buy any more that don't come apart easily like the OXOs

Not sure how much the OXO's are but I snagged these Henckels at the much higher and maybe not so slick price of nearly $20. They come apart and are quite nice.

If you have any that don't separate, just be sure to splay them completely open in the dishwasher before running. We have a couple of each and it's annoying.

Top review confirms they do separate.

As I mentioned before, a review states they separate but the product isn't actually described to separate, either on Amazon's site or Cuisinart's. I double checked the photos and the video and they don't appear to separate to me. It's no big deal if one wants to go on a review's information but if its important to come apart for cleaning, be prepared for the possibility of returning them. Amazon returns are easy. I don't know about ordering from Cuisinart's own website. Good luck! I'd probably just use these for cutting non-food stuff since they're only 5 bucks. Some people don't actually care about not being able to completely sanitize shears after cutting meat, for example.
