The heck? If you get something half of 2x... it's the same price.

I don't think this is a stellar deal... I think SD (and comments) have increasingly gone downhill over the years

Who can pays this much when u can get flights from lax to Japan for about $500, you don't need to be bougie and pay almost 3x economy prices, I rather save the money and indulge on Kobe steak

Exactly my thoughts. Zipair roundtrip flights are from $350 to $500 all year, so there is nothing "economy" about this option.

It doesn't and that user is exaggerating. Once you factor in seat selection, checked bags and meals, expecting to pay similar fares as full-service flights.
Zipair is more around $600-700 range for LAX-NRT for a basic fare (seat and light carry-on, no meal). There were a few time when Zipair dropped their fares to $400ish. For those who travel light, zip air is a reasonably good option.

I just purchased Miami-Tokyo for September round trip from Turkish Airlines for $1500. 2 luggages 46 kg and carry on plus 2 main course and snacks included. Flying with B777-300ER. No time limitations, can purchase any date.

Also, is it regular economicy or premium economy.

Saw this price yesterday morning. It is lower by $80 than the cheapest I've seen on AA lately. I think it's a great deal for what it is.

FYI, JAL to NRT on 787s is 2-4-2 configuration with much more leg room and wider seats in regular economy than american carriers. It's sometimes on sale for 8xx. Something to consider if you don't want a third party.
