Not going to ship a trade in again. Learnt my lesson.
Update - called Samsung because this post reminded me lol.
Explained the situation. Customer rep looked into the videos and pictures of the trade in their side and confirmed the trade in was received in perfect condition. Getting my $100 back for trade in. Finally! Thanks for this post OP

So are you implying that Samsung maintains a repository of security keys linked to each laptop they sell that grants them the ability to remotely "lock" it based on an agreement the user enters into upon purchase, and this remote locking function is not modifiable by the purchaser?

1. Reason: sent a S8+ tablet instead of ipad min 2. They showed me 4 random photos of someone else's S8+ tablet. Since I took photos of my trade-in device and also they had unboxing video showing my trade-in was ipad min 2 indeed when they received it, they quickly accepted the mistake and fixed the chargeback.
2. Reason: ipad min 2 was not factory reset or unlocked. This one was hard to fight. They again sent me 3 random phots of some ipad min 2 which are not clear enough to tell anything. After I insisted, they sent me the unboxing video of my trade-in. I can confirm that video was actually for my trade-in box. It took me a while to figure out the ipad in unboxing video is actually different from ipad they rejected and sent me the photos. In the unboxing video, their technician did some quick inspection and put a white sticker on the back of ipad as last step. the location of white sticker in the video and the location in the photos are completely different. I pointed it out and they finally accepted their mistake and fixed the chargeback.

I'm going to send out mine with a sticky note with my order number and a giant drawing or design so I can spot from a crappy camera
