I carry my 12.9 iPad Pro in a padfolio and I'm looking for a small keyboard that will slide in the front pocket. The one from Apple made to fit the 12.9 is too big but this would fit. Is there any reason why the keyboard won't work with the 12.9 pro?

Works off Smart Connector not Bluetooth it's not wireless

I keep wanting one of these because they seem cool, especially at this price point, but the ergonomics just never make sense to me. I can't stand the iPad up as easily, and I can't lay it down with the back raised at all. These only make sense for me if I'm typing a lot on the iPad, but if I'm typing a lot, the fabric keys are not ideal, and I want something more comfortable. Guess I'm sticking with my mini Bluetooth keyboard to cover the odd need to type on the iPad.

Just a note, the ribbon cable in flexible hinge on this breaks down over time. I've had it fail, and went through the process of attempting to repair which is way too finicky to be okay for most people.

At this price, buy two if you're stuck on these iPad models for now. My 10.5 still does 95% of what I need, a few games won't run for some reason (who cares.)

How long did it take for failure? Apple surely offers a one year warranty on these, right?

Picked one up for $50 on Amazon last week as a backup. For basic e-mail, word processing, journaling, texting, typing in URLs, this keyboard is perfect. They sort of have a limited lifespan though. My first one lasted just under two years - this was when I was bringing my ipad and smart keyboard with me everywhere, in my briefcase to work, to airports, using it on the go on a daily basis. Eventually the edges started to fray and the smart connector started acting up until it just wouldn't connect with the ipad anymore. I'm on my second one now and it's starting to occasionally have connection issues (again after two years), so since my ipad is still working fine and I can see myself using it for another couple of years, thought it would be wise to pick up a spare keyboard when it's only $50!
