I'll upvote a legit flashlight deal.

However this isn't super slick, these can be had for around this price many times every year.

Also, it should be noted because of the way light spread out, in order to get double the brightness of lets say 2k lumens, you would need to go up to 8k lumens. Therefor, 5k lumens isn't that big of a deal or that bright when you can find 2-3k lumen legit (sofirn/wurkkos or Convoy) lights on sale from much cheaper.

This is a good price. It's a few years old, a generation behind on the emitter, but light years behind in using a 26650 cell. Ironically, as the owner of several hundred flashlights, many of which use 26650 cells, I often buy these budget Sofirn and Wurkkos lights with 26650 cells when on sale just FOR THE BATTERY. Take a look at how few, if any, high drain 26650 cells are being sold on the 18650 Battery Store, Liion Wholesale Batteries, Battery Junction, IMR Batteries, etc. If someone asked for the best light they could get right now for $30, I'd suggest the Aplos T03 (same light at the Wurkkos TS23, and made in the same Jinba Tech factory as Sofirn and Wurkkos) at Walmart for $30 with less than a week shipping from within the USA. It has a way better emitter, a modern 21700 cell, a constant current driver, and a great tactical UI.

I just successfully prevented myself from buying another flashlight by hauling out my entire collection and laying it out in front of me. Phew. Just thought you'd all like to know that I escaped… this time.

What does your last paragraph even mean?

If you're going to suggest a ratio of diminished returns, it can't just randomly start at 2000 lumens.

But you're implying that somehow the optics get worse above 2000 lumens for some reason?

All of the modules used in these flashlights are very directional and don't even need projection lenses, so how is spread even a factor?

There is no "best".

Everyone's eyes are different and certain activities can be better with different color temperatures.

But if you're prone to migraines, a warmer light is definitely the way to go.

These batteries are re-wraps of Chinese brand PLB Batteries. They are above average and can be fixed. Do you have a charger that can repair batteries?

Okay sir, what number would you like to start with? The point that most people don't realize is just doubling the lumens does not double the brightness.

So a 1000 lumen flashlight next to a 2000 lumen flashlight is not double the brightness.

What's the meaning of that company name?
Sofirn, Wurkkos, Aplos, and Vlighxes are all flashlight brands made by the parent company Jinba Technology in Shenzhen Guangdong China. This is the world's largest (and best) flashlight producing region on earth. And, yes, the Chinese do make the best flashlights in the world.

2700-4k. 5k is acceptable. Anything over that is shit.

Sorry I meant for the two options of 5000k vs 6500k, I looked at a few video reviews of both but it's so hard to tell the advantages and disadvantages of each option. I think one video said that the 6500k typically reads with a higher lumen output using a metering tool and it throws farther but of course the color at 6500k might give a little bluish tinge.

While totally agree with you, I completely disagree.

Its somewhat subjective. I find 2700 to be "mood lighting". The 4-5K is my preferred neutral white range. Yes, 6K and over tends to lose considerable CRI more often than not, however it usually comes with a considerable increase in brightness. If monochromatic visibility is your primary goal, 6500 might be a good choice.

But largely, I do agree with your preferred temps, and I suspect most people do as well.

The devil is always in the details! On a more serious note, I knew Sofirn and Wurkkos came out of the same factory, I did not know about these other two.

Where does Convoy come into this? I assume they are made in the same region?

Always liked them a bit more than Sofirn/Wurkkos because Simon seems more honest. Years ago Sofirn sent me a message on reddit offering me free flashlights in exchange for good reviews. That really rubbed me the wrong way.

Not on sale at the moment, but I picked up the SC33 [sofirnlight.com] for around the same price.

I prefer the 21700 battery as this is becoming more common and the SC33 comes with a slightly upgraded emitter (XHP70.3)

Specs seem very similar; but there may be some other nuance between the two LED lights that someone else may be able to comment on?

Got these for a great deal last time and kept 1 in each car for emergencies and gave some away as presents. Plenty bright for the average practical user honestly.

I like energizer 1000lm headlamp most, solid, small, light weight, reliable, flexible, simple operation, enough bright, long running.

The Q8 pro is also $50.99 right now with batteries. I think that's the lowest it's ever been.
Now I'm debating btwn these two.... Q8 Pro looks like a fun one because the absurd specs. But I think I'll wait for another sale on the Q8 Plus with 11,000 lumens.
