I've had this for years and have used it in multiple houses. It adds piece of mind, as I keep it near the laundry machine so it's visible and I'm prone to glancing at it. One time I noticed the number jumped up and it clued me in to the fact that the radon mitigation fan was off…

This device saved us in a similar situation: The caulk they had used to attach the barrier to the walls of the crawl space had dried out, and so it was peeling off, allowing the air to come up from the ground into the house rather than pulled out by the fan.

I've been running this unit since 2018. Has never missed a beat. Wonderful instrument and investment.

Bought one of these during the last woot deal after hearing of a neighbor passing of lung cancer. Better safe then sorry, thus far I've seemed to average around 1.4-1.54 pci/L

Seems worthy of having and knowing, buy once and you are good rather then paying someone to test every so often.

The previous version of this was crap. Brought 3 units placed next to one another and I got 3 readings none of which was close to any other reading.

Hopefully they addressed this.

Like others, I've been happy with this product. When we had our remediation done, I placed this next to the professional monitor that was set up as part of the mitigation contract. Ours was .06 pcl lower over a week, so that seemed pretty accurate to me. If you're concerned, it might be worth doing something like that to get a frame of reference.

For what it's worth, our radon levels spiked after a mild earthquake about twelve years ago. They had been fine when we bought our house and rose significantly after that, even though there was no visible damage anywhere.

How does this compare to the wireless version, normal price $109.00 at home depot?

I have one. My house was getting bad Radon readings in the 9 pCi/L range (anything over 3 is not good). I had a vapor barrier installed, and a radon mitigation system put in. The owner of the radon mitigation company said to buy this for monitoring. It just works.
