Not everyone that has or needs ramps has or needs a floor jack. These style ramps are great for doing quick oil changes, coolant changes, starter/alternator changes, differential fluid changes, or serpentine/accessory belt changes on vehicles without much ground clearance. Plus quality ramps are actually safer than jack stands since there's no chance of them tipping over or sinking into the pavement/dirt.

3" lift height is way too low to be of much use though. I have a bunch of low/sporty cars that i use plastic low-profile ramps on for routine maintenance, and they usually provide more like 6-8" of height. The peak height of a ramp isn't the main thing that makes low profile ramps work.... it's the length and angle of the slope which allows the front lip and other low parts of the vehicle to clear the ramp without hitting anything.

Can you trust a car ramp called black widow?

Who decided this was a good name for this product (named after a spider that kills it's mate).

"Honey, look what I got you for a present! Can you change my oil?" 🕷️

Use jack stands (edit: with your ramps), everyone!

These ramps are not good for most people but can be usefull for people with low cars. I have a stock sports car and my ultra low profile racing jack doesn't fit. Have to at least drive on 2x4s for an extra about inch of clearance

would buy these if we didn't live in a low trust society where these will likely be stolen by some drug addict vagabond to fund their fentanyl addiction within a month.

For me it's not going to be an issue, as I don't plan on fornicating with these ramps. (though I haven't seen them in person yet, so I suppose it's possible that I'll change my mind about that)

If using outdoors, filament material type is important. PETG is somewhat UV resistant but has a bit of a give to it. ASA is better at resisting UV, and is stiffer, but the cost may exceed just buying a ramp on sale

Factors (temps of hotend/bed/chamber, too much part-cooling, wet filament from-factory or local humidity) that affect layer adhesion, brittle-ness, and all things compromising compressive strength (even shearing when tires claw up the ramp, depending on the layer orientation) - need to all work to trust that the home-brew ramp won't suddenly disintegrate.

Please backup with steel stands (definitely don't use a 3D-printed one), even if just an arm under the car.

Edit: And I hope that you were j/k, lol
Great information re: UV & plastic. Interesting stuff. 👍🏼

Yeah... when I first read this guy's post about DIY 3d printed ramp/ramps... my first thought was... he better use (sturdy steel) jack stands when using his DIY ramps 100% of time.

Only thing I can think of is so that you can use 4 ramps to raise all 4 wheel simultaneously. Not that this would be useful thing to do, but it is a reason for wanting to lift the back end while moving forward.
I was thinking perhaps the repair he's looking to do is in the rear of the car and backing onto them may infringe on the space he needs behind the wheel (eg muffler/exhaust, etc)

Useless at 3 inches
I can change the CVT fluid on my lower profile car without ramps but it's a pain as it's pretty tight. An extra 3" would make it a breeze, but in general, it does seem the use cases are pretty limited to maybe fluid changes or anything you just need a little more room to reach but not get under.

Doesn't low profile defeat the whole purpose of a lift

For all of those complaining that low profile is too low, you do know that they make regular profile ramps too, don't you?

Choose the ramps that are right for the work that you're doing.

A couple 2x10 or 2x12 scrap pieces of lumber, one longer than the other, will give the same lift, cheaper (free? look at the cut-off bins at Lowes/Home Depot), and no worries of crushing/breaking. Not my fault if you can't figure out how not to drive off the other end. Probably shouldn't be working on your vehicle if that is an issue at this height.

Works great on one tire to get more of your old oil to drain from the oil pan, of course leaning in the right direction.
