Is it worth it over the basic 20-50 dollar ones?

Rice Cookers are like 20 bucks... what makes this one special ?
induction heating makes the rice more consistently fluffy. these also have microprocessors and have multiple rice cooking functions, like for congee and stuff. It also presoaks your rice for a set time before starting to cook, so that also helps it make a better finished product

with all that being said, I'm chinese, I eat rice a lot, it's worth it for me. If you only cook rice once in awhile, might not be worth it to you.

Not if you're not a super rice snob. We have a regular 60-70 dollar rice cooker and make medium grain Japanese rice everyday. The type of rice you buy is more important than the rice cooker you use.

Same question. I have a basic rice cooker, we love it and I have no interest in getting a more expensive cooker.

Yes they are legit. Likely it's a white label item that could be branded and resold on Amazon, Walmart, in department stores, etc

Edit: Nevermind. I found it. I am guessing they are getting these from a cheaper market like Hong Kong or Vietnam since Zoji sells the same model to each of them. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3...81622.html

I found the higher end model on AliExpress for $492. A pretty good price if you need the high pressure for sticky rice and the advertised feedback loop where it remembers and adjusts the rice based on your critiques.

This being worth it or not for me would be based on if it can cook rice with a crunchy browned bottom/base part.

That stuff is delicious.

It's worth it if you eat (or want to eat)
1) brown rice that aren't dry hard
2) short-medium grain white rice as common in northeast China/Korea/Japan
3) rice congee or steel cut oatmeal
4) rice with crispy bottom

If not then no. For instance it's no use for Basmati rice.

We have a Zojirushi since 2008 that is still working. We only cook Basmati. You can use Quick, Regular function and both work fine.
