I wish we knew what would be better for PC games this or Quest 3 both similarly priced. I still have Quest 3 Within return window I bought on sale for $400. I guess we have to wait until August 7 before we know which device works better with PC games. That you can't buy replacement hand triggers for this is a big turn off obviously. Maybe I'll buy the horizon bundle from Costco for $420 that comes with the extra charging station for Lifetime return policy if I decide to keep this and return Quest 3. I wish I knew what the upcoming quest 4 for will look like

Quest 4 seems to be slated for 2026...

If you're playing your PC games fine on your Quest 3 (Streaming or USB compression and lag isn't bothering you)..and you like the stand alone games... then Quest 3 might be enough for you. Especially if you enjoy dancing games or ones where you're moving all over the place. And you got used to the pancake lenses.

With the PSVR2, it's wired..so you don't have to worry about battery life...and connected by Display Port connection.....meaning you are getting an uncompressed feed of your PC game.. no lag. And it's an 4K OLED headset. You might enjoy watching 3D movies and other media on it because of the screen. (Quest uses LCD) If you plan to play driving and flying games, imo the PSVR2 is the better headset for that.

But yeah it would be good to try both, if you have the option.

Thanks for the info. I bought the official Quest Link cable for $80 for my quest 3 to hook up to PC, haven't taken it out of the box yet. I wouldn't be using the quest 3 for Standalone purposes much and I already have a 3D TV for 3D movies. Sounds like psvr2 might be a better way to play my PC games. I wonder if it's really a crap shoot the $330 recertified from Best Buy Horizon bundle will come with game or game that's already been claimed? bundle with charging cradle for $420 from Costco might be smarter with lifetime warranty if the hand triggers fail which apparently can't be replaced

Yeah the PC adapter releases next week. $60. But like you said, maybe Costco might be the better option for you.

Edit- seems I have some Quest 3 fan/employee following me around down voting any post lol. I meant what in this ^ post warrents a down vote? 🙃

I would recommend the Costco version with the better return policy -- there are a lot of non-replaceable parts on the PSVR2. The USB C cable, for instance, is proprietary and unable to be replaced, and quite a few people have already damaged theirs, mostly from the connector end (that plugs into the PS5) becoming pulled-out and breaking the cable.

You mentioned wanting to play PCVR Games - I play my Quest 3 on a fully wireless setup (Half Life Alyx) and have no issues. VirtualDesktop is my preferred app, some have better luck with SteamVR app and others have luck with the Oculus PC App, so try them all. People seem to get better results from these (wirelessly) than the USB Cable (assuming if you have a good router and are in the same room)

I think the PSVR2 might look better for PCVR, but it's quite a troublesome setup to me. It needs a $60 adapter, multiple cables (USB C, a Displayport 1.4 cable and I believe a power brick), setting up bluetooth, and keeps you tethered to your PC. I have 2 Displayport and 1 HDMI output, and all 3 are going to different monitors so I'd need to remove one if I wanted to connect a PSVR2.

Does anyone know what the return period is for this if bought with a red card? Is it 30 or 60 days?

Not worth it. It's on sale for a reason. PlayStation has just about stopped supporting it. There are hardly any games for it, certainly not many new games
Selling so well Sony has stopped production of PSVR2 hardware. I wouldn't expect any real software support going forward. I predict a fire sale just before the holidays as they try to move inventory before the new year starts.

I do have a Meta Quest Pro and don't use it, I'm just thinking about PSVR2 to play GT7 as seems to be the best racing experience, I gave to one friend my PS4 and the PSVR as it was there for at least 2 years just getting dust. Not sure if the lenses will look more clear and image sharp than in my QP.

I never bought one because of lack of backwards compatibility with PSVR 1

Especially since I bought a lot of games for it

Yes I know many games were updated but not all of the games were updated so it stings

You can't even watch 3D movies on a PSVR2. The PS5 doesn't even support 3D Blu-ray.

It is not backwards compatible. You can't even play PSVR1 games on a PSVR2 unless the developer specifically adapted it. A LOT of classics and basic games are just not available. Like even beat saber isn't available. I don't particularly like the game but it's one of the first things people see on videos of modern VR platforms.

Overall it's likely the worst gaming purchase I've ever made. The hardware is excellent. The software is non-existent. It wasn't the lack of interest that killed it. It was Sony's lack of support that killed interest.
I have one and exactly this. AMAZING hardware, hopefully with them opening it up to PC it will get the support it deserves. The games that make use of it on PS5 really are must plays though, Sony just did a Sony and didn't back their hardware with first party titles.

FYI, Costco has the PS VR2 + Call of the Mountain bundle w/ charging dock for the controllers for $419. [costco.com] $20 more for the $50 retail price dock.
Just one thing to note is that the official controller charging dock kind of sucks. I have one and it's super picky about how you align the controllers in it. Third party is the way to go for that.

PSVR2+GT7+Wheel = everything 40+ year olds thought the future would be when we were kids at the arcades.

It was worth it just for that game at $550... it's a steal for $350 if you like racing/cars. Being inside a muscle car from the 70s...or a car from the early 90s that wish I had back then... is just such a cool feeling. The interiors.. the sound. So cool.
