That's not how this works... A T29 Flap Disc has a conical shape and has an angle when you look across the abrasive material. T27 is the flat flap disc. No difference otherwise.

You got me on this one. I don't need flap discs often, but they're definitely nice to have around when you do.

Yeah I'll take off the guard as needed sometimes but take a look at a few videos about disc breakage without a guard and you might reconsider. Pretty easy to lose a finger or launch shrapnel into yourself. EEK!

My buddy had a disc shatter without a guard and a big piece of it wedged into his face. Few grand at the hospital, not worth it. Close to being permanently blinded(no way his safety glasses would have stopped it.

I bought these the last time they were on sale. Will not buy again. I wanted these to grind away the coating on steel before I welded to it. Did not work. All the abrasive came off…. After a couple of disks going bald, I switched to a hard wheel for my grinder.

Ever watch the show "moonshiners?" Cast member lost a finger that "got in the way..." course my guard came off and was lost.
