Super flexible tool, when I used to make book safes by gluing the pages and cutting out the center, this tool was perfect. If you do dry wall, it can be used to cut out the spot for electrical sockets. It can cut tile, and there is a sandpaper attachment for use as a sander and this is just scratching the surface.

Oh man. You can do a lot with this. Actually one on the more useful tools I got in the "Greay Ryobi Buy of 2022".

- great when replacing floors
- use it to cut a box area behind your entertainment center, then thread in cords and cover with a metal plate door thing to hide them in the drywall
- great for cutting PVC
- I've fixed two door jam holes with it

It's good for cutting trimming things already installed and secure. It vibrates tremendously- so it's bad for cutting things not secure.

Also the included blade SUCKS. Get a Diablo replacement blade

lol! I just used this tool yesterday to cut out rotting cedar trim. This is the handiest tool for cutting out hard to otherwise reach spaces.

Definitely agree! What you cut with this has to be secure or else it only vibrates and doesn't cut. But for a pinch in need for trim, drywall, etc, it is the handiest tool in the toolbox

I'm trying to get a hedge trimmer but not sure which ones qualify. I would like this https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../206542635 but it's apparently out of stock. Would it even have qualified for the free tool in the first place?
I have the ryobi hedge trimmer but the 40V version. It rusted after first cut. Compared to most green works tools it' was a disappointment.

What?? Rusted after the first cut?! I would be so mad! Were you able to get it replaced under warranty?

I bought it on clearance and didn't use it until almost the next season end when boxwoods bushes over grew so didn't have a chance to do return.

Bummer! Now I'm worried because I'm also looking into Ryobi and getting into that ecosystem

I have used it to cut door frame trim so the tile I was installing would fit. Also used it to cut a bolt off a muffler that had stripped thread.

Mine 18v didn't rust after about 10 usages. Ryobi ecosystem is fine, no one buys it for exceptional quality. But for the price/performance/variety it doesn't really have any real competition.

Its one of those tools where you dont realize how much you need it until you have it.

Just recently I had to repair old cedar shingle siding which isnt easy to get the nails out as the ones above it cover the nails and using this with a long carbide blade I could cut off the nails I couldnt get with a prybar.

Cutting baseboard when laying flooring.

Used it to cut out a section of hardwood flooring that was water damaged by a leaking steam radiator. Was able to precisely cut out just what I needed and so that it was only half way across the joist.
Ive even used it to cut exhaust bolts that were in a hard to reach spot using a carbide blade.
